I had a wisdom tooth pulled out recently, it's healing up nicely but because I've been eating with the other side of my mouth, part of my gum on that side is swollen as a result of pressure and making eating very painful. I know the obvious thing is to go to the dentist but they cost quite a fortune. I had a tooth removed recently so I know!

Ok, why did YOU become a dentist?

does the product have to be used with a special care that the dentist shows you how to do? Is it too powerful that you need special instructions on how to operate it?

I was reading through questions and caught a reply to one that said loose dentures can cause cancer. Is that really true? I don't mean to sound like an idiot, but seriously? Thanks so much!!

My 3 yr old baby girl has been adviced to go for teeth extraction for the front three teeth of the top. Have the following concerns and would appreciate if someone can help us:

1. She will not be able to sit for the whole process and hence might have to go thru general anesthesia. Is General Anesthesia okay for a 3 yr old? Does it not have any effects after the whole procedure?
2. We have read that removing the teeth may effect the permanent ones and hence some sort of placeholders are kept to avoid this. Can we get some information about the same and like, is it painful, or does it involve another process or are they permanent?
3. The teeth has to be removed due to the decay caused by prolonged breast feeding. Is there another solution besides the extraction by removing the infection or things like that?
4. How much will the whole process will take and till what portion is covered in the Insurance?

Thanks in advance.

For the past week my gums have felt really sore where they join my teeth. I brush and floss regularly but my gums do appear to be puffy, they are irritating me to the point where I try brushing them again to see if it relieves it, but it doesn't. any suggestions?

Well, after thinking about what my dentist/orthodontist said, I decided it was worth it to get braces in college (I got the clear ones). Well, I must admit, my teeth hurt really badly and I cannot chew, so what can I eat? Someone suggested yogurt and baby food. Any other suggestions that don't require any chewing at all?

I have my first orthodontic appointment at 3:15 later in the week, but through strange circumstances, there is also a very important sports meet that same day at about 3:30. I probably can miss a little bit of that meet, but if my first appointment is merely to see if I need braces or not, how long will that last? Also, what else would happen during that appointment?

Why do people randomly say I have a beautiful smile when I have bucked teeth and I tell them, no I don't I have bucked teeth! They're like no you don't!

Well my mom always says I have bucked teeth. Is there a way to fix this?

I had braces and after taking them off I didn't have time to set my teeth before moving on to the retainer. Never wore the retainer.

Suggestions?
BE NICE PLEASE

I have bad teeth and am scared to go to the dentist. I have 3 "eye" teeth I think is what they are called, that are starting to decay on the outside. One is really bad, it is black. They need to be filled I think. I have one tooth that has eventually chipped down to the gumline but so far hasn't bothered me. I had a partial root canal done, they did the first stage where they drilled down and packed it with meds, but that hurt so bad and I didn't go back. Another tooth has chipped, but only a little, right in the middle. Could they fill that tooth, or cap it to prevent it chipping away?

Will most dentists let me do a payment plan? I know there are none in my area that do a sliding fee scale. I am just on the borderline for medicaid but I still cannot get it so I have no insurance and no way to pay for healthcare. But I really need to be seen. Money is so tight that I have a really hard time just paying the bills that I have but since I am BARELY over the poverty guidelines, I cannot get any kind of help at all from the goverment.
