You need a college degree just to get into dental school.. that can range from 3-5 years.

Then dental school is 4 years long.

Then if you are one of the top 3-5 students in your extremely competitive class, you might be able to get into orthodontic school and then you are looking at 27-36 mo.

So 11 years of really intense studying is the correct answer.

In the phil, after you took your board you can have a prospectorship study in ortho for a year or a year and half.

USUALLY YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES (4 YEARS), FOLLOWED BY DENTAL SCHOOL (4 YEARS), AND THE SPECIALTY PROGRAM USUALLY 3 YEARS. SO THAT'S ABOUT 11 YEARS. THIS FIGURE MIGHT CHANGE DEPENDING ON THE SCHOOL AND PROGRAM ATTENDED.
