Take Motrin if you are not allergic to it. That will be the best thing until you can get to a dentist--that is what we recommend to patients who can't get prescription medication. If you have any antibiotics around start taking those too--if you're not allergic to those as well. Try moist heat your face in the area where the tooth is, that will be soothing (wet a towel with warm/hot water) Don't do alcohol it is not a medication. Only some type of pain reliever will work. Good luck hope you can get some sleep.

In addition to using the pain medication of your choice, sleep on an extra pillow to elevate your head. Sleep on the side that does NOT have a toothache. If that doesn't work, you can move to a recliner or the sofa so you can keep your head really elevated. This will minimize the blood flow to the area and therefore minimize the throbbing and pain. This might help you make it through the night until you can see a dentist.

you have my sympathy i have had terrible toothache on and off for days - i am waiting for some dental work. I was told to do this as a kid from my grandmother and i know it works!!! you will get almost instant relief, my whole family swear by it and it does work. I would check if you are able to take disprine first... take a disprine break into four and put one 1/4 directly onto your tooth, let it dissolve-if its still sore use the other1/4 i would not use more than one. It sometimes works with just one 1/4. Be sensible and used when needed as dosage suggests but dissolve on the sore tooth. but see the DENTIST asap good luck

The best way to get rid of the pain, is to get a baby aspirin and put it right next to the tooth that hurts and let it dissolve. Do not chew the aspirin. Hold it next to the tooth. Repeat about every 4 hours until you can get to a dentist. This always helped my family when they had toothaches and couldn't get to the dentist for a couple of days.

take some pain killers ... maybe a little brandy or alcohold with ... but be sensible. Tomorrow (or rather later today) get some oil of cloves from the chemist to dab on your tooth and then make an appointment with a dentist first thing on Monday morning,.

Suck it up! You are letting your pride get the best of you. You are acting very immature. Getting a divorce is not the end of the world, it is the end of a commitment you had with a another person. Your commitment should not end with your son. Feeling anger towards your wife is part of the grieving process. Losing someone takes time to heal. You should not take any of this out on your son. He is innocent in this. You owe it to him to continue being a father. Act like one. You are a little jealous because your wife has moved on. There is nothing wrong with her being happy. Why would you want the mother of your child to be sad, miserable and lonely? Don't you want your son to be in a happy and healthy home? Children need a happy place to live. You want his experience with your divorce to be pleasant. Too often divorcing parents put the children in the middle of the battle. They try to force the children to "take sides". How pathetic is that? Get over losing her. Move on, get happy again and show your son that he is important to you and that you love him no matter what has happened between you and his mother. Never put his mother down in front of him. Keep in contact with your son as often as you can. Keep your hatred out of it. I think you should consider seeking professional help to guide you through this anger you feel. It is not healthy for you to carry so much anger as to want someone dead.

dab some clove oil on it- mind you it's grotesque so you may want to have a tasty drink next to you incase it makes you hurl. Another solution is to get a drink with high alcohol content and dab some on the tooth to numb it. Works wonders but make sure the sugar content isn't too high either- you'll rot the tooth away.

Take some paramol and ibuprofen (if you are in UK), they will take the pain away, and lie with hot water bottle over face. I have just had exactly the same thing so know where you're coming from. Then just lay still and try and get some kip.

Bash your big toe with a hammer (not hard enough to break it, obviously.) Your toothache won't go away, but you'll forget about it for a while! lol
