For the past week my gums have felt really sore where they join my teeth. I brush and floss regularly but my gums do appear to be puffy, they are irritating me to the point where I try brushing them again to see if it relieves it, but it doesn't. any suggestions?

Well you should go to a dentist because only a dentist can tell you if you have gingivitis or some other gum infection. You do not say if your gums bleed or not. It may be you are brushing too hard or using a brush with hard bristles. Anyway go to a dentist and see what he/she suggests

u need a professional cleanning and after it u should improve your oral hygein and use perioguard or peridex or listerine other rince no good. you have build up under ur gum thats what causes irratation puffyness bleeding when touched or flossed and brushed see dentist sooon

If you do not see a dentist regularly for cleanings then plaque and calcium could be building under your gums causing that. And I agree with the person recommending peroxide gargling it works best.

Brush with baking soda and peroxide. The bubbling gives additional cleaning power.

HELLO,

BY THE WAY, FYI CALCIUM DOES NOT BUILD UP UNDER THE GUMS, BUT CALCULUS (TARTAR), AND PLAQUE DOES. THIS BUILDUP CAUSES THE GUMS TO BECOME INFLAMED. THIS MAKES THEM PUFFY AND SORE.WITHOUT A PROFESSIONAL CLEANING AND METICULOUS HOME CARE THIS CAN LEAD TO GUM DISEASE AND TOOTH LOSS.
