well back in 98 i got a crown put in with temporary cement they sent me home and they told me to let them know if my crown bothered me. i went back for my app. and i told them everything felt ok. so the nurse tried taking my crown off but she couldnt so she said well its on good so we will leave it like that. they sent me home. well i kept on getting a blister filled with pus over that tooth but i payed no attention. i went to the state fair and bit into candy apple and the crown came off. well i went back to the same office and told them what happened.they took x-rays and they said it was infected and they wanted to charge me a couple thousand dollars to get work done they were gonna put a veneer..well i dont have that kind of money so i said not now. they didnt charge me for the visit or the x-ray. do you think its cause they know that its thier fault cuase if they would of took the tooth of and put on the cement it wouldnt of got infected.now im getting a gap in my 2 front teeth

Metallic taste, and it bothers me. I did not have it before the fillings were put in. The dentist used a silver color material for these fillings. Are there other kinds of filling material I can ask to replace this with that would stop this metallic taste?

My 24 year old son is in desperate need of dental work. I cannot find a dentist who will see him. I have dental insurance, but medicaid will pay for his dental if the dentist feels its medically necessary to put him in the hospital. I am a single mother of 2 autistic sons and am struggling to make sure all their needs are met. They are both in a group home and they have not found a dentist either. Oprah, please help me find someone with patience, compassion and understanding who is willing to work on special needs people and willing to fix and restore his teeth. I know you are a very sweet and compassionate woman with a big heart. I am all my sons have and I just want to help my son. Please help me find a dentist.......Thank you, Mary

I've always had sensitive teeth (not awful, but occassionally with hot, cold, acidic food like apples, strawberries...) and I've just tried the whitestrips on my teeth....now my teeth are noticably sensitive all the time (I've only used the strips for a couple of days)....will this subside? and in the meantime, is there something I can use to ease the sensitivity? I bought a sensitive toothpaste but I don't know if it will be effective or interact in a bad way with whitening products? And, while I'm at it, doesn't the toothpaste that is for whitening and sensitive teeth cancel each other out? All answers appreciated thanks!!

Hi i'm an italian dental student attending the 5th and last year who'll be graduated on october 2007.

I'm quite curious about your opinion about european dentistry and dentist?

I'd like to have a working experience in the USA even if is highly improbable... i'm not recognized so i should do extra training.... and in Italy my father has 2 offices so i'll have lot of work.. and money!

Anyway is possible to do a specialty (e.gOMS) for a foreign trained dentist?

Aren't there pastes, protective covers that can go for months without brushing?
I find it quite a waste of time to brush teeth for 4-9 minutes everyday.
