There are some majorly disasterous things in chewing tobacco.

The National Cancer Institute found that smokeless tobacco contains 28 known cancer causing agents including

* Polonium 210 (nuclear waste)
* N-Nitrosamines
* Formaldehyde (embalming fluid)
* Cadmium (used in car batteries)
* Cyanide (poison)
* Arsenic (poison)
* Benzene (poison)
* Lead (nerve poison)

The other facts are that chewing tobacco may have 5% of the number of problems than smoking, but the life expectancy of someone who develops a problem is less than 2 years. Throat and esophageal cancers kill quick with no known treatment.

There are plenty of herbal replacements that can fulfill the needs of the chewing tobacco user, check out http://www.hoochsnuff.com/ and http://www.mintsnuff.com/. The latter has some really ugly pics of people with problems. Both sites have info on problems associated with chewing tobacco.
