Bleaching your teeth is a simple and safe procedure.
Remember, if you decide to "whiten" your teeth, that any existing fillings or crowns will not change colour due to the material they are made of.
Also, your teeth will only "whiten" to their inherit colour.
Have a talk with your dentist and see what he/she recommends.
There are a few alternatives.
* Laser or "Zoom" bleaching is one.
This is done in office with your dentist.
A high concentrate of peroxide is painted onto your teeth and a laser or blue light is used to accelerate the bleaching process. This takes about an hour. It can be quite expensive too. Approximately about $1200+ depending on where you live. Higher of course in capital cities.
There are side effects to "zoom" bleaching is teeth become extremely sensitive and can take more than a few days to settle down.
* Another alternative, is a home bleaching kit.
This is a less expensive way of "whitening" your smile.
It was done in the privacy of your home and takes about 7 to 10 days to reach the desired shade.
It costs approximately $250 + and once again, it depends on where you live.
Moulds or impressions are taken of your teeth and a thin plastic tray is made.
Dops of bleach are placed into the tray and inserted over your teeth. These trays are worn for about an hour or so.
You can expect some sensitivity with using the kit - BUT this is NO way as painful.
Also, if you notice that your teeth have started to go darker again, you can "top - up" by purchasing some more bleaching syringes. This means that you don't have to purchase the whole kit again.
* You can purchase "whitening" toothpaste or paint on solution but this doesn't work as well as the product is not held against your teeth.
It is important to remember not to eat, drink or smoke for a few hours after bleaching, as you are only going around in circles.
Remember to brush and floss your teeth after each meal to maintain a health, beautiful smile.
Best of Luck!!!

Only one way works. Go to a dentist. Hand him $300 and get the BriteSmile technique done. About an hour later, your teeth will be a PERFECT shade of white. Cost usually includes another treatment 6 months later.

if you;re talking by product there really isnt a harmless way.its either gonna harm your money or your teeth. crest products do work but they are pricey. i use white strips and they definately work. BUT your teeth may become VERY(pain!) sensitive in spots and sometimes after not using them you get a white residue up top your teeth that is ugly. fakers of crest work but arent worth it. doing it at the dentist is very pricey but it is quick.
