I had the same question before. I was told it is a lymph node.
As not as it is not getting bigger or become painful. It should be alright.
When in doubt, check with your doctor.

Depends where under the jaw bone, if centered on neck under jaw bone it could be thyroid tissue, if it is on the sides it could be salivary glands or lymph nodes that are swollen from the body being sick( cold, virus, etc.) regardless you need more then us to tell you what is occuring. You should see your primary physician and let them check out the mass. Make certain to include details such as a possible slightly elevated body temperature or recent sickness you have battled. They will palpate the lump and determine the next course of action. This should not wait until later, go get it checked now while it is obviouse. I hope this helps. Feel better!

It could be a lymph node - do you have an infection or cold? It could be a salivary gland. Make a doctor's appointment. Lumps need to be investigated.

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/JTzTp
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

Sounds to me like a saliva gland, i had one pop out under my chin bone but it went away within a few weeks, scared me stiff it did but if i was you i'd just get it checked with your doctor. Its really probably nothing, could even be a swollen gland yet u might need anti-biotics.

It sounds like a sebaceous cyst - just a hardened lump of sebum, its totally benign. See the doctor, he will refer you more than likely to outpatients to have it drained, in a painless procedure.

In and out within a coupla hours.
