About 8 months ago I went to my dentist because my crown was loose. He said there was decay and he drilled it off and gave me a brand new crown a week or so later, since he said he had to drill so deep he thought there was a possibility I needed to get a root canal done on the tooth. A little bit later a small pimple like thing developed directly under the tooth so I went back and he said I needed to get a root canal done (no pain.) Anyways since that time I have moved and just in general have been busy. Today I called up another dentist (closer to me) and said I needed a root canal. She took some x-rays and said that there was decay under the crown and that I would need a new crown along with a root canal. I explained the crown was about a year old but she said it didnt matter. Anyways that didnt really sit well with me so I told her I would think about it. But is this possible? The crown isnt loose or anything so how could there be more decay. Is this possible?

I have a partial upper denture for a missing front tooth that I'm wearing until I get my implant in about 6months. It's sort of like a retainer with a false tooth. I'm really self conscious about it and I'm afraid to kiss any guys because I think they'd notice. Would they?

I know it sounds stupid, but you know how you see that "zoom" whitening technique on TV where a crazy blue light whitens people's teeth? A tanning bed has crazy blue light. Are the UV rays the same? Could I whiten my teeth and get tan at the same time?

Okay, I'm getting braces in a few weeks, I'm super exited because I can't stand my teeth any longer, and when they put those things on your back teeth (aka brackets) does it hurt? if not, what part of it does hurt?

How much are fillings generally? My friend is about to pay $500-$600 for one I thought that was waaay too much.

And are DDS's allowed to use braces devices - like invisalign to re-align teeth? Or can only ortho's do that?

What is the best adhesive to temporarily hold it in place ? There is no damage to the crown, the permanent cement seems to have given way. I tried a liquid solution sold under the CVS brand and it doesn't hold.

I had my wisdoms and an extra molar out exactly a week ago. My gums are still a little sore. I didn't realize that they were sore until I decided to try to eat something solid. I heated up some alfredo cheese raviolis, just alfredo sauce and ravioli no tomatoes, no spicy stuff in there or anything crunchy. I didn't even chew on my back teeth, I used my front teeth to chew it and basically swallowed it whole. Now my gums are really sore, I rinsed them afterwards with the water syringe and brushed my teeth well. Also, my jaw is super sore. Should I take a hydrocodone for the pain, or just wait til it wears off? Should it still hurt 7 days later? I was just sick of pudding and mashed potatoes so I didnt think a soft noodle with cheese would hurt me, but I guess I was wrong...What the heck am I gonna do about Thanksgiving tomorrow!!!!???? :*(
I am so hungry for REAL food!
