Chomped into a slice of pizza straight out a (gas mark 9) oven yesterday night. Boiling cheese proceeded to stick & coat a large proportion of the roof of my mouth and inner gumline area. immense pain. Today i have a dark dark red patch there and a constant taste of mild blood. Any suggestions on how to accelerate healing?

This child (supposedly) has 9 cavities, gingivitis. The estimated dental care will cost nearly $5,000. She will need to be anesthesized and the ped. dentist will need to use the O.R. at the hospital. The hospital charges approx $1250 per hr. for use of their O.R.. It will take approx. 2 hrs, that's about $2500 just for the use of the O.R.. The insurance the parents have will pay very little. These are primary teeth, so, is it really necessary to undergo all this extensive dental work (pulpotomy, caps, etc.). Thus far the parents have only visited one ped. dentist, should they consult with other ped. dentist' before rushing into allowing this particular one to perform the necessary? work? Are there other (more economical) ways of getting this done? Are there any assistance programs to help with the cost' of this? I realize your teeth are very important, but, $5K to fix (possibly) a toddler' teeth is a lot of $ to the people involved here. Realistically, they cannot afford it.

They are not really causing any problems right now but they are pretty hard to reach when brushing, so my dentist recommended to have them extracted. I'm not sure if I should just do 2 at a time or do all.

I hope you guys can help me with this since Philips (Sonicare maker) couldn't even properly answer this question. Almost every week, disgusting dark green colored film collects inside the electric toothbrush head. First of all, is this normal? is anyone else having this issue? I have to take a manual toothbrush to scrub out the film. Is this a common occurrence with electric toothbrushes, am I supposed to ignore this gross film and just change the head every 3-4 months? It's getting to be a hassle to have to clean out this film every week!

Some of my tooth are loose, and I have braces on. Will they keep getting loose? All my teeth are adult teeth. which is why I'm so scared. Once I get my braces off ( which is in like i don't know 2 years? ) , will my teeth tighten back up, and not be so loose anymore? Or will it get worse or stay the same?

Hello everyone, I was told by my dentist that jaw's can be pulled forward of pushed back. I want a more defined jaw line that doesn't make my face look like It's sucked in. I think loosing weight may also help, but I cant really change my jaw structure just by loosing fat around my face. Please help is there any kind of reconstructive jaw sergery or treatment that I could do?

I've been dealing with something for 4 wks now. I prefer not to hear any horror stories please. I appreciate the help but I will obsess if I hear something horrid. Here's my story.

4 wks ago I had a root canal on the right upper #4. My friend who is an RDA and worked with the best Endodontist in the county for 10 years, she went with when I got my xrays. She said the root canal looked very simple and there was only 1 canal. My dentist performed the root canal in confidence. I was on antibiotics before and during the RC for 2 days after. When I had the RC I had an abcess on my gum. I still have that abcess. I went in to the dentist to have her take a look. She took the time to see me and said everything was ok. She said that the abcess will go away. I told her ok but I would not put the crown on until the abcess was gone. The abcess has not changed in size. I am looking for an experienced or professional opinion. I go back on 12/16/06. What if it is not healed by then? Help!
