I'd say that about 98 out of 100 patients know that this is what they are supposed to do; just stay in the chair as the back reclines and there you have it. If someone is not leaning against the back of the chair before you tilt it down, just say, "Lean back please," and after they lean back, click the switch to recline the chair. If they sit upright, just be blunt and tell them that they will have to lay back.

I remember something that my very first patient taught me that they never told us in dental school. I was trying to get him "just so" in the headrest. I asked him to turn a little left, not so much back to the right, a tiny bit to the left, and so on. He stopped me and said, "You father always just puts his hand on my chin and turns me until I am positioned the way he wants me."

If needed, just be direct.

Then they leave and seems like a lifetime before returning.And always, your there after lunch so you can smell what they had for lunch, lol. Then your stomach, starts to gurgle, due to you havent eaten, and then you get a sour stomach, and you think, hurry up so I can get out of here.
