My seven-year-old daughter lost her two front over eight months ago and I am quite concerned that I can neither see nor feel signs of her permanent teeth coming in. Her dentist assured me that the x-rays show there are teeth there. Is there anything we can do to speed this process along? I am concerned that as other teeth fall out she will have difficulty eating.

Is there more than one kind of surgery? The only thing I am familiar with is braces or mouth guards.

it has a rotary bristle......the hygenist did a demonstration....she used a small chalkboard covered in chalk, and asked me to use 2 other electric brushes to swipe across the board....they didn't clean it that good..but the 100 dollar one swiped the chalk off pretty clean.....i felt like i was in an INFOMERCIAL seriously! Should I buy it? I have no idea what the replacement bristles cost.

I had a tooth removed a week ago yesterday. After a weekend of terrible pain, foul taste and smell I went back to the dentist yesterday. He does not speak very good English - we have a shortage of dentists in my town and I think this one is Portugese. He said "I put some medicine in the hole" and sent me away without further explanation. From reading on the internet, I believe I have dry socket and he has packed the cavity with analgesic. The pain subsided within minutes. My question now is this - should this packing be removed (it does seem to have set)or does it stay in? Does the gum eventually heal over it?

My OB suggested a prescription for vicodin, as tylenol dosnt work, and he doesnt want me to take ibuprophin. I can tolerate the pain durring the day, with Orajel, but at night the pain is just too much. Is this safe for me & the baby? What about Tylenol #3 (with codine)?

I just had a root canal done 2 weeks ago. I go back on Monday to finish the procedure. Just today I lost a piece of my temp. filling. Will it be ok to wait until Monday or should I make an appt sooner? Also I am still feeling some sensitivity in the tooth. Is this normal. I thought I wouldn't feel much since the nerves were killed. I feel like a shocking feeling in it and every once in a while I feel like a thumping in it.. I am a big wuss when it comes to the dentist and I don't want to mess this up and need to have the procedure done all over again cuz of my negligence.. lol..

I was referred to an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth removal. They set up an appointment and I was unsure of whether I wanted sedation or not. I got there and asked if I could speak with someone about the risks and stuff first, and they said yes. (I was never offered a consultation prior to the surgery). Well I never got to talk to anyone. The place was packed and everything was so fast paced it made me more nervous than I was to begin with. They rushed me into a room and the rude nurse sort of answered my questions but not really. So I just decided to get the sedation although I wasn't sure what they did. They did not close the doors on any room. There were like a billion people in there just walking by. They took me to my surgery room, and again left the door open for everyone to see. Then I woke up in recovery, the door open, and the nurses were fighting with eachother about who was supposed to be taking care of me (I thought this was unprofessional).

My mouth tastes like crap. They said I could brush my teeth today, but it hurts too much to open my mouth enough to get the brush in there. Plus the toothpaste burns the holes. What else can I do to get this poo taste out of my mouth? I'm not real big on saltwater gargling....
