You can go to the emergency room and the doctor there will write you a prescription for antibiotics and possible pain medicine. Some ER's have an emergency dental clinic. Check around for that in your area. Also, call as many dentisits as you can today/tomorrow and ask to be put on a cancellation list. If you have a regular general dentist that you've been to before and recently he will probably call in some antibiotics for you now.
Anytime you have a toothache, keep your head elevated above your heart, which just means don't lay flat. Clove oil may also help, as pointed out above. If all else fails, take 800 mg. of Motrin every 6-8 hrs. and try to hang in there. Good luck.

Once a tooth becomes infected, there is no "home remedy" to take care of it. Only a dentist can relieve the pressure by opening the tooth and giving you the antibiotics needed to clean up the infection. My advice, see your dentist as soon as possible. Good luck!

I would not wait. I just went though the same thing and my dentist told me if I had waited it could have been really bad. I ended up with a root canal and he had to put medicine inside the tooth. You don't want it to abscess on you cuz that is major pain. I was awake for 2 nights with it and pain pills did nothing. Try and get in now cuz u will be so relieved that you did. I feel for ya cuz I know how bad it hurts!!

Roast an entire head of garlic in olive oil and then eat it with some bread. That will put some natural antibiotic into your system which may help slightly reduce the infection until you can get to the dentist.

Gently brush teeth first, preferably with a soft toothbrush if you have one. Gargle with warm water several times a day. Then drink only warm (not hot) liquids (water, soup). You can soak soft bread in the liquids and eat on opposite side of infected tooth being very careful not to let foods slide over.

You have an infection? You need to be seen right away. You need an antibiotic and waiting almost a week is VERY dangerous. The infection can go into your jaw and into your blood stream. That will put you in the hospital.
Find another doctor today.

What I have done in the past and seems to work well, is to get chewable childrens tylenol or motrin. Chew on it and then rub it around the area in your mouth that is painful with your finger. Then swallow the rest of course. It gets rid of the pain almost instantly.

Call your dentist and tell her it's an emergency. If the pain is that bad, you have a problem.
If she can't see you, she could give you a prescription for vicodin or codeine.
