My OB suggested a prescription for vicodin, as tylenol dosnt work, and he doesnt want me to take ibuprophin. I can tolerate the pain durring the day, with Orajel, but at night the pain is just too much. Is this safe for me & the baby? What about Tylenol #3 (with codine)?

You're OBGYN knows best. She or he wouldnt be prescribing htings that would harm the baby. Go ahead and help yourself get out of pain, take the vicodin that was prescribed. Hope this helps!!! Hope you feel better fast!

Have you seen a regular dentist? They may be infected and then you would need antibiotics, which is safe while pregnant and will get the pain to go down in a matter of days if not sooner, are the teeth through the gums yet? if not you are teething, and when the baby is born and starts teething you will reallyunderstand what all the crying is about! The dentist will not remove teeth while pregnant unless it is an emergency like severe infection and abcess. I would use ice packs at night and avoid anything hot if there is any chance of them being infected. Hope you get better! I had to suffer through it while i was pregnant and got the dam things out as soon as i could after having my baby!
