I'm in grade 6 getting braces AND expanders....can I still play my trumpet?

yes you can, my friends have braces and they still play it, it will just take some time adjusting because of the shape of your mouth (if you already play the trumpet).

tell your orthodontist this. there is a thing i duno what it is callled but i was in a concert band and one of the girls who played trumpet had this thing over her braces sothey didnt cut into her lips. it was just like a little mouth guard thing over them while she played her instrument. i hav braces btw and played the flute and saxophone. the flute was ok but my lips got a bit cut up and all when i played the saxophone so i suggest asking ur orthodontist bout it

hey i am in 9th grade and have had braces since 7th........i am now 1st trumpet in the high school jazz,pep,marching, and concert band......and i had expanders for a while.......no worrys

My friend had the same problem in 6th grade. yes, you can still play but it might hurt your lips a little.

Dental wax, for people with braces, will help soften the pressure. When you wear braces (which I did as an adult), dental wax can be your best friend.
