Brush your tongue, it is where most of the bad breath occurs. Use mouth wash and try the breath strips. In my experience, brushing your tongue is the best way to get rid of bad breath. Do it 3 times a day depending on eating habits and how quickly it may come back

Start with a professional cleaning and evaluation in your dental office. After that, you have to maintain your clean mouth at home.
Floss, brush your teeth, scrape your tongue, rinse with a mouthwash of your choice.
Avoid foods that make bad breath, like onions and garlic. If none of that helps, consult your doctor or dentist to see where the smell is coming from.
If you do a search on the internet using "bad breath" as your search term, you will find almost five MILLION references. Here's a good place to start:

The odors from garlic and onions enter your blood stream and then it takes a couple of DAYS before you breathe it all off. As you do this, you will continue to have bad breath. You can only use a mouthwash or breath mint (sugarless) as needed to mask the odor. I have read a lot of answers here saying to eat parsley to get rid of garlic breath, but I have no personal experience with this. Try it.

There are a few techniques that will help, by killing more bacteria than normal. Mouthwash helps, however flossing will eradicate bacteria between the teeth. This is where a lot of bad breath odor will hide. Brushing the tongue and roof of your mouth will also kill off a lot of bacteria. This practice is healthful and will not harm your mouth in any way.

Bacteria causes bad breath. Everyone has bacteria in their mouth, but bad breath is caused by certain types that multiply too much in your mouth (probably due to bad hygiene measures). Now use antibacterial mouthwash and brush your teeth and tongue more regularily. If it still persists after a while, visit a dentist.

Brush your teeth at least twice daily, floss, and make sure you eat breakfast of some type to prevent Ketosis. But check with your doctor to make sure you don't have an ulcer or other digestive disorder. That can cause bad breath as well.

Brush 3x daily with Colgate Total or another high-quality toothpaste, floss at least once every other day, and rinse with a mixture of 1/3 Listerine (any flavor), 1/3 hydrogen peroxide, and 1/3 water. Then chew sugar free gum all day and drink lots of water. If you drink any sugary drinks, rinse your mouth with water afterwards.
