I had a root canel done 10 days ago and the pain is still the same. No change. 3 days ago my dentist gave me the strongest anti-biotics but it still did not help. As soon as the anti-biotics is gone (4-6 hours) the pain comes back just as much as it was 10 days ago. There is no relief at all. She did not take an X-ray to check my tooth. She just showed me the x-ray photo taken after the root canel done. She explained it might be due to a little extra cement filling left at the end of the root. And that might cause the pain. Then just asked me to continue the pain killers. I know she did something wrong but don't know what to do now. I think I'm another victim of a failed dental practice :(. And now she asked me to just sit & wait until the pain is gone. But the pain has not changed any little bit. Right before it's time for me to take another anti-biotics, the pain comes back as much as it was. I got Etna Ins & she used it up on me. Now I cannot afford to see another dentist:( Advise?

After years of being bulimic and having a baby 3 months ago, I had to have all my bottom molars removed this week. The pain is incredible, and I will not be getting my implants for 3 weeks. I could really use some suggestions on what to eat, I have been living off of Miso soup for the last three days, and something new would be great.I do not want to eat baby food or pureed veggies or meat- thanks in advance for any tips!!!!!!!!!!1

we just got dental health insurance and on it it says it covers for amalgam and resin restorations: limited to one filling per 24 months per tooth surface. Multiple restorations on a single surface will be paid as a single filling. Does this mean that we can only get on ONE filling every 2 years...or does it mean we can get all our teeth filled..but only once every 2 years?? I'm really confused i don't think it makes any sense to have just ONE filling every 2 years...

Well u guys, I have a problem, a love affair with candy is causing me to have several cavities, enough to have 2 root canals, I love Sour Patch Kids, and all soft, sour candy, not neccesarily bar candy, but anywho, I need you guys to help me on this one,I've always had nice teeth, but inside, the candy is taking over, I have terrible toothaches, I really want to stop this, I'm not addicted to the candy , but I still want to maintain the rest of my nice teeth, and have less cavity forming dental visits...Any ideas??

hi all, i had a root canal done 4 days ago, i'm still feeling pain in this tooth (like nothing as changed) is this normal? - ive also got this filling at the back (i think its only temporary), so i'm not sure if hes going to crown it or what.

i don't rate my denist, he doesn't talk much just does the job and sends you on your way, ive got to go back in a month so not sure whats going to happen then.

ive got anti-biotics, but is the pain natural (like the tooth hasn't changed) for days afterwards?

One of my molars gets sore usually in the evening and causes a little pain when I chew on it. I have notice that during the night I periodically clench or grind my teeth. Then I saw a commercial suggesting that may be causing my discomfort. Is this true or were they just trying to sell something? What else could it be?

I had a tooth pulled last Thursday. It needed stitches so I had to go back Tuesday to get the stitches out. Since this time I have had to go back to the dentist everyday to have the extraction site packed with gauze and clove oil and it just happened to be the very back molar. I am suffering with chronic pain in my jaw to the point that I can't even hardly even open my mouth. I am on antibiotics so it is not infected and I am taking VicodinES and Motrin for the pain but it still persists. Oh and the dentist says that it is not a dry socket either so why does my jawbone and ear hurt so bad? Anyone have any suggestions because at this point I need some.

I had a cracked molar, which was causing me load of pain. My lovely dentist performed root canal work on it about a month ago.

In the last week or so, the tooth has become sensitive to hot food or drink. Really sensitive. If hot food hits it, I'm in orbit.

I went to see him yesterday, and he says 'but I took the roots out! It's not possible' etc. I'm not imagining this pain, I can tell you.

Incidentally, at the same visit, he has persuaded me to get a mouth guard because I'm grinding my teeth. Not sure if this is related to my pain, but just so you know.

Any ideas as to why this tooth is hurting, if the nerve has been removed? Help! I'm sure the dentist is a good one; apparently he lectures at UCL.

I had a hairline fracture in my maxilla about 4 years ago, which resulted in getting a root canal done on tooth #8. The root canal went smoothly. I noticed recently in some pictures that my tooth is discoloring a tiny amount. Otherwise, the tooth is fine. I asked my hygenist about it and she recommened I get a crown on it. She said later on, it might crack on something, b/c the tooth does not have a nutrient supply. She said it would become brittle and it was better to be safe than sorry. I am in my mid-20s so of course I am worried about the long-term ramifications of my decision. What should I do? What type of crown should I get?
