i cant exactly give you an average...it all depends on the severity of the case.
i have friends who had them for 1...2...i've had mine for 3. heck, i know people who had braces for 8 years. ALL depends on how bad your teeth are.
go to the orthodonist and he can give you a rough estimate.

Average amount- prolly like a year or two. I don't want to scare you but i had mine on for 5 years. Not fun!!

the average is about 2 yrs, the longest i ever seen someone have them is about 5 yrs

I had mine for 4 years. My friend got hers in second grade, got them off in 6th and back on the summer leading up to 8th grade.
It all depends on how bad your teeth are. Ours were bad but now they look great.
And wear your retainer! I have a friend that got his back on because he never wore his retainer

i got mine put on when i had just turned 11, and got them taken off right after my 17th bday.

Well Dear.............my husband has worn braces since he bought his first suit 55 years ago. He never quite got the hang of belts.
