It all started about Halloween,as we were collecting cadies from the houses I said "Hey there is your friend...Boy,she's lost alot of weight is she anorexic?" as she sadi "No...but I sortof am" AS we walked more she told me she hasnt been eating much, exept an orange a day and a glass of water. It started getting worse for when we went to school she'd pack a lunch and not eat it and throw it away,So I got super upset and said "If you dont eat ill tell youre parents and ill even shove it down your throat if you dont eat" And she said"relax my parents already know" but they didn't and I didnt tell them either:(She kept saying she ate but I knew she didnt, what can I say to her? Please Help?!

Is it cheaper to buy and carry the wipes seperate from the pads? Should I just buy both together in Always brand? I figure the wipes are cheap anyway and the pads are about $5 by themselves. Do you use a wipe everytime you use the bathroom and your on your period. Do you just use it when you feel nasty? So confused the use for them things... Oh and I noticed actual baby wipes and vinegar/water douches make me smell. Any better ideas?

i know several answers, but i thought this may be a resource hypertensive people can use.

My input:
Research the DASH diet
Increase physical activity during the day
Take some time to relax
Get at least 7 hours of sleep

I am interested to see what other people have to offer as far as advice and knowledge.

By CAM, I of course I mean complimentary & alternative medicine.
I just found out that the menstrual chaos I've been suffering from is due to uterine fibroids. I don't like any of my allopathic options. I don't like the pill because I believe that forcing fake hormones into my body is not a good idea for me. I don't want to have any of the surgeries because either a) the fibroids will probably just come back, or b) I may become infertile. I always say I never want children & I've never had a relationship but I still have at least 10 years left of potential & the thought of ruining it forever is a bit scary. What if some bizarre miracle happens & I meet someone that I want to be with & have kids with?
So I'm wondering if anyone out there has been successful in dealing with fibroids naturally. Perhaps with acupuncture, herbs, supplements, etc. Even progesterone cream would be a better option.
Or, maybe just answer how you DID deal with them, & if it worked, no matter what it was.

My mom has non-hodgkins lymphoma and she just completed her first 6 months of treatment. She went for an appointment to get a cat-scan to see what the progress was. While waiting in the waiting room she was greeted by a financial director from the hospital and my mom was told that she was in too much debt to the hospital to get any more services.

So she was sent away.

She still has her port and they wont even flush it for her so im also concerned about that getting infected. She doesnt have any health insurance and Im not quite sure what paper work she has already filled out through different associations. Im just brain storming, looking for any ideas of people or oganizations that I might be able to contact for grants for cancer patients.

If you have been in a simular situation I am very interested in finding out what you did to get the care that you needed when you didnt the money to get it.

Thank you,
Julie

I've been having hip/femur pain that has gradually gotton worse over a period of about 4 months.

The pain is coming from the bone and I only get it in my left leg. It is worse at night and while im resting. The muscles around the area have also recently become sore and my knee bopne hurts sometimes too. I always feel tired and I walk with a limp. The pain is throbbing and it comes from my femur/ sometimes buttox/ hip joint and knee.
The hip joint feels tender and like it is bruised when I touch it/ but there is no bruise. Because my musce is sore its hurting to walk and exercise. I dont even know why the muscles sore. the painis constant

I often feel fatigued. I havnt weighed my self in a while so I dont know how much I weigh.

If its any help/ I can pop out my RIGHT hip ( but that is not the sore leg)

Does anyone know what this could be?

im teenager. dont suggest growing pains as I have had my period for 4 years and had my growth spurt years ago and havnt grown since.

It started saturday night when I just felt sick to my stomache for a little bit, then Sunday night I was up for hours feeling sick. On monday I took a sleeping pill (I havent been sleeping very well) And then a few hours later I threw up. But I just blamed the pill. Then last night around 2am I threw up again. I just finished my period so I doubt I'm pregnant. What else could be making me throw up? Most of the day I feel fine (though I haven't had much of an appetite).

or if it's regular. I'm kind of afraid to ask
my ma, cuz she would just tell my dad about
it. And I don't want to spend the next couple
of weeks with my dad looking at me funny. soo.
Help please.

This question is not whether you support or do not support the conflict in Iraq but is focused upon those who return after being sent there. Do the occupying nations adequately address the extraordinarily high percentage of mental health (PTSD, alcoholism, spousal abuse etc) problems that are clearly becoming evident?
Have you experienced such problems and have you received the help needed?

My dad has been acting different the last few years. It is very hard to have a real conversation with him. He will usually talk about 2 or 3 different things at once and most of the time he doesnt even make sense. He likes to start arguments over nothing and then later changes the subject to something totally different. Many people try avoiding him because he talks nonsense nobody wants to hear. He has recently started a collection of junk he does not need and is only getting bigger. He was recently diagnosed with diabetes and severe depression. He is 54 years old. Is this some kind of mental illness we should be worried about or does the depression have anything to do with it?

insulin, glucagon, glycogen are the all the storage factors butbody teperature, dresing in layers to kep body a a certain temperature, drink warm or hot water to dilute the blood sugar. Diet sodas containing no no sugar add some blood sugar. Drink water slowly and 2-3 during a meal it will dilute the sugar. Remember, the main component of fat is water. Dont make it harder than it is, if you have been drinking plenty of water throughout the day and during meal, you might want to start.

A persons blood sugar might chance after drinking a cup of black coffee. Woud the same happen if they put on an etxtra jacket and if so would this mean blood sugar can be controlled exteriorally as well intsad of just giving insulin shots.

Another factor is garlic, if garlic thins the blood what are the ramification of using a daily grlic supplement for diabetics and hypoglycemics?

I am a long distance runner and want to find a primary care physician in Portland Oregon who is familiar with common injuries, and specific health care needs of runners. Also, my husband and I are thinking about having children and I need to find a doctor who is knowledgeable about pregnancy and exercise, preferably someone with personal experience with both running and motherhood.

Almost exactly twelve hours ago, a lot of you were extremely helpful when I asked how to approach my parents about a possible anxiety disorder... so thank you very much. I think I have decided how to go about this, and I would appreciate feedback.

I'm over the age of 18 and attend a university about an hour from my parents home. I think I will open with a recent occurance at this university, because they already know the basics of it -- that is to say, I freaked out in the middle of one of my finals and had to leave.

I'm going to tell them that I am concerned this may happen again during the spring... as I have made myself physically ill during exam time the past couple years.

As they are very concerned with education, this should be an easy way for them to understand how worried I am.

Does anyone have any opinions on this? Good idea? Bad idea?
