i know several answers, but i thought this may be a resource hypertensive people can use.

My input:
Research the DASH diet
Increase physical activity during the day
Take some time to relax
Get at least 7 hours of sleep

I am interested to see what other people have to offer as far as advice and knowledge.

Losing weight, if needed, is a wonderful way to reduce blood pressure. Exercising atleast 30 minutes a day, EVERYDAY will also help. Of course, a low sodium diet is key to reducing blood pressure. Sometimes hypertension is hereditary and, even while doing all of the things listed above, is still uncontrollable. If this is the case for someone, then they woudl have to be seen by their doctor to be placed on an anti-hypertensive or a diuretic. Uncontrolled hypertension can result in kidney failure, stroke, and heart attack. Hope this helps!
