Chance are low only if you use both. But these method,doesn't prevent from HIV and Sexually transmitted disease. For prevention, condom has to used by your partner.
There are many other forms of contraceptive which is like you use and forget for 3 months to 5 years depending upon the needs. therefore it is always best to consult a doctor GYN/OBG.
