ive always heard that abuse gets worse the longer a person endures it, and this has proven to be somewhat true over the past few years. The reason i dont make a big deal out of it is because the intervals between each incident are so long-sometimes even a couple of years-that i usually forget how bad it was until it happens again to a worse degree. I got my first really bad black eye last week, up until now the bruises have been pretty well hidden and im wondering how long itll last? university classes start again on monday and i dont think concealer's going to do the job.

before anyone says anything, no i cant leave and no i cant report this person-hes a sibling. my parents take his side because theyre afraid he might 'get worse' ,so they turn against me instead. if i leave or call the cops i wont ever be allowed to see my siblings or family again.i dont want to worry my friends, how do i hide the bruise+make sure this doesnt happen again?

My period was supposed to come yesterday, and it didn't (i am not sexually active) I want it because if it comes later I will have it for the first day of high school!!

My husband is currently stationed in Iraq and will be home a few days before thanksgiving after doing a 15 month deployment. His dad wants to come up to see him come home, he lives over 2,000 miles away and I want him to come up but Im afraid. I had my mom come visit us 2 years ago, she was 62, my son woke up in the middle of the night and found her passed away on our couch from COPD. Im so afraid that is going to happen again, my father in law is 64 he has asthma,emphysema,COPD, diabetes,is on blood thinner medicine, full oxygen,nebulizer , he has a total of 25% lung capacity and many many more meds that i cant even remember, and on top of all this he still smokes 2 packs a day. He says he wants to come up because this will be his last holidays,and he hasnt seen us in 4 years. I really want him up here but Im so afraid, will he be allowed to travel, I called amtrak and they said he can bring the oxygen, but its a 38 hour trip, airplanes wont allow him. How do I handle this??

I have horrible vision; and if I didn't have polycarbonate lenses, my glasses would be heavy and thick (but not really thick).

I know there isn't much I can do, but I want to improve my eyesight by as much as possible. Any suggestions about diet or routine?

arghhh it drives me crazy, but if i fall asleep at 9:58 i will wake up at 10:58,11:58, etc it drives me crazy. does anyone eles do this? is there a way to help stop it without meds?

I have had my nipple pierced for several months with no problems. It healed quickly. During the last few days, it has been very sore. I can't rotate the hoop without pain, and even slight pressure aggravates it. There is no discharge. I don't know if it is migrating out because it has only been a few days. I recently moved into a new apartment and I believe that the water quality is different, but that seems to be a random reason for this. However, the person I am living with recently had her nipple piercing reject, but hers never really healed in the first place. I have also recently been cleaning it with Summers Eve soap (haha, I know). Any thoughts?

A few nights ago I woke up and noticed it hurt to swallow very deep down in my throat - like in my esophagus near where the adam's apple is.

What could be causing me to have pain there? I hardly ever get reflux or heartburn. It feels a little like when some food or a pill gets stuck temporarily, but this discomfort has now lasted for days.

I was hit from behind at 70KPH and apart from whiplash, have a disc protrusion at C6/C7. When the pain is severe in the shoulder region, I have pains in my toes similar to my right hand, as well as very tight hamstrings. This is obly when the pain in the nerve is severe.

Is this normal for the Cerivcal area of the spine to cause the leg problems? I've only had a cervical MRI and nothing lower than that.

Is it caused by cervical disc/nerve root, or do I have something that has been 'diturbed' beneath this line?

Any answers other than telling me I'm an idiot will be welcomed.

I scrapped my forearm near the elbow and took off some layers of skin. My daughter cleaned the wound, sprayed with antibiotic, covered it with clean pad and wrapped it up with gauze ( ? ).Previous band aid didn't sick. After changing the wound several times in a week it still hasn't formed a scab. I told my daughter I thought I should leave it uncovered after sprayng it with spray skin. When I do it slowly starts to form a scab. My daughter says this is wrong! Says it heals better when covered. Need an answer!

I was thinking of eating different types of low fat organic cereal with organic skim milk 3 times a day. I was going to mix in bananas to some, and a powdered protein supplement at least once or twice a day. I would of course be taking a multi-vitamin and munching on veggies between meals. Has anyone ever tried a diet similar to this? I'm trying to control weight and tone up, thanx!

I'm from UK and we have the NHS which is free healthcare as you probably know. I see questions answered on her about medication etc and sometimes people say I can't get this or that as I have no medical insurance. Does anyone know if its safe to take all three of these meds together, i know you can take the nexium and zantac for extreme cases of heartburn but is it safe to take the mylanta along with it. I still have extremly bad burning in my chest and back and under my armpits and breatbone?

I'm 23 years old and have 2 daughters. Upon the birth of my second daughter I informed my doctor that I was interested in having a tubal ligation but his response to me was that I was too young and he then suggested oral contraceptives. In reality was is there a required age for this procedure? or does that depend on the doctor himself?

i keep getting kicking like feelings in my tummy!! its so strange iv mever had it before and it started yesterday. it feels so strange just like something is kicking me from inside! sometimes my tummy even seems to move a bit! its come at a gutting time as i have just had a miscarriage and first thought that it was my baby but i know that its gone now =[ as i took a test last week and it was neg.

I am pregnant and put on loads of weight the last time. This time Im worried about it because I felt really bad about myself.

I am finding stopping myself from eating things like chocolate and biscuits hard.

I need a subtitute that i can eat loads of and wont be fatty or make me put on weight.

If i get stressed i go to the kitchen and eat what i constitute as a treat but no good if its 3 times a day!
