I'm from UK and we have the NHS which is free healthcare as you probably know. I see questions answered on her about medication etc and sometimes people say I can't get this or that as I have no medical insurance. What happens if someone is ill and has no insurance have you got any kind of free treatment schemes or not?

There are state and federal options available to people with no or little insurance but they will vary depending on income and eligibility.
As far as the NHS being "free", there is no such thing. It is paid for through taxes.
The US and UK systems both have their benefits and drawbacks.

Well, there's the "free clinic"
Or you see the doc anyway and just rack up medical bills. This is part of the reasons Americans carry around so much debt. We're trying to pay for healthcare we can't afford.

You hope to God that the hospital you go to is willing to do a charity reduction or at least let you make payments. My bf had a wreck and the bills told over 30,000$ to four different places. We managed to get them to accept a monthly payment.

Otherwise, you go into massive debt and I'm not sure if you can file bankruptcy on it anymore.

Nope. It is called-- we go to the emergency room--- get treated--- and then the doctors send your bills to collections and you have bad credit

Sometimes hospitals will offer reduced fee for those who do not have money to pay for it.
