I was thinking of eating different types of low fat organic cereal with organic skim milk 3 times a day. I was going to mix in bananas to some, and a powdered protein supplement at least once or twice a day. I would of course be taking a multi-vitamin and munching on veggies between meals. Has anyone ever tried a diet similar to this? I'm trying to control weight and tone up, thanx!

I couldn't think of anything worst than a high carbohydrate diet for fat loss. there is a LOT more to dieting than cals in vs cals out. the source of the calories is more important than the calories themselves. and the foods that you consume on a regular basis have a direct effect on the endocrine system and the endocrine system governs the human body. carbohydrates cause the greatest increase in serum glucose and insulin levels as compared to proteins and fats. controlling insulin is the key to decreasing the body fat and a diet comprised mainly of carbohydrates would make that virtually impossible especially since carbohydrates are only the primary source of energy when the body is operating at a high level of intensity such as when running, swimming, heavy weight training, etc. fatty acids are the primary energy source used by skeletal muscle when the body is at rest like computing, desk work, walking, light house cleaning, sleeping, etc.

It would probably help you with your goals, but it doesn't sound like something you'll be able to keep up. I'm sure you'd get tired of it in just a few short days. Try to create a more balanced diet incorporating all types of foods. You'll feel more satisfied and it will be something that will create good habits that you can maintain throughout your lifetime.
