This year, as a highschool freshman, I want to try to bring my own lunch to school a lot more than I used to. My reasons for this are:
1.) I am a vegetarian, so I will have few, if any meal options at school.
2.) I want to try to eat healthier meals (for my general well-being and also to stay at a good weight). If I bought lunch, this would be nearly impossabe, since school lunches (at least my school) have always tended to appear good for you, but in fact not be (think whole wheat toast drenched in butter and coated with sugary jam, or rye bread grilled cheese that's extremly greasy).
3.) For conveience.
I'd definately prefer things that just as tasty to eat (when they're a few hours old) at school as they would be fresh at home. Of course, I already have a few ideas (like PBNJ on whole wheat), so I'm looking for a little bit of creativity. So, if you have any ideas for good lunch choices for a health-conchious (spelling?) freshman, please let me know!
