Smoking is gonna close down the capilaries that are trying to heal the wound. What if you switched to a nicotine replacement? Commit lozenges work well for me. Of course you would want to keep it on the side away from the wound.

my son was told to wait a week, sucking on a cigarette increases pressure in the oral cavity and can cause a dry socket, very painful and hard to heal up. He couldn't hold out that long tho', so he got filterless cigarettes and used those until it healed up, less suction required to get the smoke.

at least 24 hrs but up to 3 days i would recommend.....and did u ask if u should quit smoking? cuz i wasn't sure if i missed that in ur question by everyone else's answers

put a gauss over the hole bite down lightly and smoke away....i did this and it worked out fine.all two times ive had my wisdom teeth pulled...light hits....very light hits....

i would wait until its completely healed. No point in getting an infection or cancer because you couldn't wait a few more weeks.
