Health - 19 July 2007

I am 37 years old WHITE male with no grey hair and no baldness. I look around 27 and never felt better in my life. My grandfather died at 102. Should I contact someone to research this. Do you know anyone else who is white, around 40 or older and does not have any grey hair and no baldness at all?
I mentioned I'm white becasue I know in other races it is less rare not to be bald at this age for example.
Please please please believe me I am not trying to show off or something. I just never saw anyone else white in my life who looks that much behind his age. This is the first time I am asking the question.

I've been wearing glasses for about 2 1/2 years and I can tell my vision deteriorating. I lost my new glasses and I can barely see anything with my old one unless I tilt it in a certain angle.
Is there any way o improve my vision? (naturally) I heard Vitamin A only make your eyes better at night. I also read eye exercises only prevent your eyes from worsening but it doesn't make it any better. Please help.

My ribs on my right side REALLY hurt. Sometimes when i breath in too deeply i get a sharp, stabbing pain in my ribs and it makes my right shoulder ache. I think it's the muscles inbetween my 2 of my ribs that have been pulled and have gone into spasm. How long until it goes away???Btw i'm a 16 year old male.

I have taken 6 vicodin in the last probably 12 hours (2 pills every 4 hours as prescribed by doc for degenrative disk disease in my back). I also have prescribed tramadol that I have yet to take. I have been on vicodin for several months now due to my back pain. Is it safe to take a tramadol today if I dont take anymore vicodin until tomorrow? Is it safe to take 1 or 2 vicodin in the AM and a 50mg tramadol in the PM? And yes I have called the on call doc....they have yet to call me back and my normal PCP is out of town. I just thought some of you might have some advice...experience.

Hi, I'm a fifteen (and 4 months) year old male. I am currently 5'9 (175 cm) and 125 lbs but I haven't had a growth spurt in ages now. I play basketball so I really want to be taller. My dad is 5'10 (177.5 cm) and my mum is 5'5 (165 cm). My mum and dad both have fairly short parents, but how can I determine how tall I will be?

Information that also may help:
My dad is the only person in my family that I am shorter then.
I currently wear a size 11 shoe.

I'm a bodybuilder and sometimes I get trouble breathing normally; after walking a flight of stairs of around 20 steps, I sometimes have to breath through my mouth. After eating it's the same thing. It's been happening to me for quite some time now.

Can anyone help me out?
And if you're also a bodybuilder, does this happen to you?

I don't know why but occasionally I get these really painful bruises on the sole of my feet. The location is more or less the same area, on one foot is my heel, on the other is the side on the sole. Any idea what this is? I haven't done anything to cause it and I can clearly see the red patched area on my foot sole.....please help. Thanks!

I'm 19 yrs old and 5'3 1/2. I've been this height since i was 16. i eat healthy and exercise regularly but i just won't grow. when i stopped growing i was 135 pounds. i have know put on an additional 15 pounds of muscle from playing football. my dad is about 5'5" to 5'6" and my mom is about 5'2 1/2" and my little sister is 5'3". Do i still have potential to grow taller or am i done? O yea my dad said he stopped growing at 21-22 yrs old.

So I just got blood taken out for a blood test.
They took it out of my wrist and now my wrist is sore...
I have never gotten blood drawn out of my wrist before.
But when it was drawn out of the inside of the elbow.. I have been fine.

im getting these little cracks on both sides... I use Neosporin lip treatment, but I think i made it worse. I tried some cold sore stuff but it just burned and hurt, and they are not cold sores anyway. It's like tiny paper cuts minus the blood. My mom (whos a nurse) told me its cuz of iron deficiency. I cant eat cuz i dont want to agitate it. any 1 know what this is ? and how 2 prevent and get rid of it?

oh and its not an allergy...
and i use chapstick regularly...
oh ya....i took some colloidal silver the other day...
but that couldnt be the cause. could it?

if so, do you have scars, and have you been able to find something that works for the scars? For the longest time in my life I thought I was the only person whose arms looked so bad; covered them almost all yr round, I have also seen worse on the interner. Hey guys...I am 20 and I was just diagnosed with RA...my grandma had it and I guess it tends to skip a generation...

I was just wondering if anyone else young like me has it? Obviously the answer is yes but sometimes I just feel like I'm the only one who seems to have a body that thinks its 78...

Right now I am on a sulfa drug but its been like 2 months and I still get pains in my fingers and hands...is this normal for anyone else who has it? I know it has to build up and I am gonna ask my doc about it but I am just curious....

I'm just wondering if anyone has been on Topamax long-term, and if so, what side effects re: weight loss you have experienced. I know that it often leads to weight loss, but I'm wondering if you eventually "get used to it" and gain all the weight back... or if you stabilize at a lower weight.

Im 16 and ive had my period since the beginning of 7th grade (im a junior now). Ive had my "period" 3 times this month! The first one, which was i guess you could call my, REAL period (because this is the one that was supposed to happen) was july 4th, i bled for about 4 days-my normal. again on the 15th, it lasted about 2 days. now its the 19th, and i started bleeding??

im 30 years old and have endured alot of trauma, pain and victimization in my life. in the last couple of months ive been diagnosed as having borderline personality disorder, i have very low moods each day, emptiness and loneliness. ive never achieved or achieved anything with my life, no relashionships with anyone, never had a girlfriend..never worked or been employed..ive been bullied and victimized serverly in my life, assaults, head injuries..ive really had a bad time of everything. i get paranoid at times feeling my lifes being controlled and im being prevented from doing & achieving the things i want, like having a girlfriend and emigrating to better life away from the uk. but for along time now ive had a chronic rage problem...i used to have explosive outbursts out in public years ago..& have even knocked people over...over the years its inproved with me having better control without any therapy. however when im in a rage i feel so angry & have violent thoughts

okay. long story short...I was born with lazy eye and had surgery to correct it when i was 5. along with the lazy eye i didn't have periphial vision, so they attempted to correct that as well. as time went on i've noticed that i still have the lazy eye, just not as bad. if you look at me in the eyes you can catch it from time to time, especially when i'm tired. i've worn glasses since i was about 9, and every eye doctor i've gone to has told me that i cannot wear contacts because my eyes don't have a focal point. so if i were to wear contacts i'd see 2 of everything, because my eyes don't work together. is that something that laser eye surgery could correct, or am i stuck with glasses for the rest of my life?
