Meaning, if you have a max out of pocket of 4k and you want to have a medical service performed that costs 10k, the cost of which is not covered by your plan because while it is considered a medical service, it is specifically listed as being "not covered" by your plan docs -- do you pay 4k and your insurace pays the rest or are you responsible for the entire cost of the service?

My best friend has lost a lot of weight recently. I asked her how she has done it and she finally admitted she barely eats 250 calories a day and exercises for 2 hours a day. She doesnt think she is doing anything wrong as she says she has never felt faint or ill. Will she get ill? What can i do? This has been going on for about 2 months.

I am under watch by my opthamologist for possible glaucoma. Once, measured by optametrist, my IOP was slightly our out of normal range. He did not note any other indicators of the disease. He has been checking my optic nerve (takes pictures) and doing vision field test for years.

Because of the optametrist's observation, I decided to see an opthomologist. The opthomologist repeated the test and found the IOP within normal range however, decided to do all of of the other tests (vision field test and pictures of optic nerve). He says that he will repeat the tests in three months, compare the results and then conclude as to whether or not I have glaucoma.

I use weight to stay fit. I do not do any power lifting etc. My objective is to stay toned, not to bulk up. I know there were some studies done that say that IOP goes up if you "weight lift". I would like to hear from those who have gluacoma or are knowledgeable in the field and/or are famalier with the study

I went to the doctor on Monday regarding a single lesion on my penis which was looked a lot like a pimple. My doctor asked if it hurt if it got squeezed and i said yes and he said you have herpes with no further testing. He then prescribed me a $250.00 7 day supply of Famvir which even states on the website "Has not been proven effective for initial outbreaks". Does this sound like I should get a second opinion or can herpes really be diagnosed by merely looking at it that easily? I do also have a medical history with Staph boils and such if it at all could be related. I really don't know what to think about this.

My parents and my b/f have all convinced me that I am depressed. I tend to close myself in my room alot and I'm not as social as I used to be. Other than that I don't feel that I'm really depressed, but rather I've mellowed out. Anyways, the rest of my family are all on anti-depressants already and they talked me into going on them to try them. I was put on Lexapro, and I've only been using it for a few days. The only thing is that I seem to be having real bad side effects. I feel nauseated, I feel weak and seem to have no energy, and I'm shakey. Is this normal when you first go on an anti-depressant?

My mind is always calm..

but I seem to suffer from some terrible adrenaline.. inducing... butterfly in the stomach syndrome.

Its numbing.
I can feel it in my stomach.
Feels like an adrenaline rush but instead of making me energetic it almost like.. stops me in my tracks.

How do I get rid of it?
