You seem like you are on the right track as far as the general idea is concerned. However, I agree with the above poster. You should have a more substantial breakfast (think a bowl of cereal with high fiber - some oatmeal - a glass of juice) and then have a smoothie as a midmorning snack (if possible) I have a cute little insulated canteen that I use to bring a smoothie to work with me. I just blend it the night before, pop it in the freezer, then the next morning spoon it into the canteen before heading off to work. (make sure to re mix the partially thawed mixture in case it settles!)
for lunch I would suggest a small garden salad (no or super light dressing. [be careful of FatFree dressings that pack in the calories!])
I find the slimfast meal bars serve better as a pick me up afternoon snack than a meal... you are less likely to cheat at dinner time if you have a healthy snack around 3ish. I like the meal bars because I can eat them at my desk at work, without causing too much comotion.
Your dinner plan sounds great... skinless grilled chicken with steamed veggies (no butter or cheese!) and a small salad.
Make sure to drink lots of water, and a large glass of low fat milk with your dinner to maintain your calcium levels!
If you stay up late enough to be ready for a before-bed snack (which also helps with morning hunger) grab yourself an apple, or some grapes!
Dont forget to be careful with your sugar and calorie contents, but you dont want to dip too low. Insufficient calories will result in you not losing any weight at all!!
Also, avoid premade smoothies (especially stuff like jamba juice) they may seem healthy but PACK in the calories. A regular smoothie at jamba juice has on the upward of 500 calories!

Not exactly. It's okay for a VERY short term, but there is such a thing as not consuming enough calories. In which case, you'll gain weight because your body will go into starvation mode and hold onto anything you eat.
If the smoothie is something you make with fruit, yogurt, and milk or something similar, it's not a bad breakfast. If it's commercially made (like at Dunkin Donuts or something) I'd be wary because it's probably got zero fruit in it and a ton of sugar.
You also should be eating more real food instead of the meal replacement bars and stuff. You're missing a lot of vital nutrients eating this way, and the best way to get them is from real food - fruit, veggies, lowfat dairy, and lean proteins.

You'll need more veggies and wheat or grains, it looks like. You could have some rice to go with your chicken, or some pasta. Also, are you drinking any milk or juice with this? Avoid drinks that have a lot of sugars in it, and try drinking 1% milk if you're on a diet. Try putting in a fruit salad (fresh, preferably) or some carrot sticks as a snack. . . I can't imagine feeling full after what you described--which will kill any diet. You can also try substituting the Smoothie with a cereal that is low in sugars with strawberries cut up in it. Also, it is importatnt as to how you are preparing the chicken--grilled is best, if you're frying it, that will add a lot more calories and fat.

There are many fad diets that claim to do certain things. Your basic diet for your body is the same for everyone and is taught in school at very early grades and we seem to forget them. The way i learned them is this and has always been good for me. Eat from the basic food groups everyday as the contain the vitamins and nutrients that your body needs. The body has a very unique way of balancing what you eat and only keeping the things it needs and requires to stay healthy. Second guessing the most advanced medicine machine ever known is just plain wrong. The body is the highest technical self preserving healing item on the planet and if you give it some of the basic food groups each day the body will do the rest. Meat groups, vegetable groups, fruit groups, dairy groups and follow each with lots of liquids to aid in hydration and digestion easing the labor of the body to digest. Fast food is not one of the recognized food groups so it does not fit. The mind of the human body is already programmed to take care of itself so if you think that your monitoring of calories and intake is going to balance your system it is not because you do not know the requirements of your system but it does. Eat when you are hungry not bored and then only what you need to fulfill the hunger. Nervous eating can be countered by other things like a hobby or physical activity. Most diets do not work because everyone is unique their requirements for the replenishment of tissue growth and release of hormones that develope our bodies and allow regeneration are all top secret to the body. The only requirement is to give it the food it needs to function. Follow the basic food groups, eat when hungry, forget counting calories and the like as the body does all that for you. There is no secret to being healthy but the secret to being balanced is to let the functions of the body do what they do and fuel them. Over weight is a sign of two things, overeating and lack of exercise. Yea, exercise is a part of the diet that we neglect. It is a part of the necessary groups to health. People will sell you any diet or food you want but the basics, unless you have special physical restrictions or under the care of a doctor, the basics work well. Focus your mind on enjoying other things in life that you miss by trying to do the work that is already taken care of with out thought. You will feel and look better. Back to basics. Your body, like your car, needs fuel and while you do not always fill your gas tank to the top for around town errands or the like, same is true in your body, don't top off just because it is mealtime. Meal time is when your body requires fuel just like the car and will tell you when it is ready, just listen to it for the signs of needing fuel and let it do the rest.

no,
its proven that the best diet is a big breakfast, a normal sized lunch and a small dinner. and dont eat after 6 or 7.
breakfast could be something like eggs some fruit and stuff like that.
Lunch could be some fruit with cottage cheese or maybe a salad with non fat dressing, like vinagarette and thousand island.
and dinner, chicken and other white meats and steamed vegatables.

Seem to be pretty balanced as far as food goes... but, with that much exercise I'd say there should be a little more calories incorporated into your day.
Maybe some healthy snacks or a little more for breakfast.

if thats all your eating then it wont be long before you give up and binge.
thats hardly enough calories at all. if on a diet, you should be eating about 1300 calories a day, maybe more.
but whatever you do, make sure you get LOADS of water and your five-a-day fruit and vegetables
the best diets are balanced diets, with every food group incorperated. search 'food pyramid' on google images to see what, and how much of it, you should be eating
good luck

Sounds pretty good. Hope the chicken is white meat, and NOT fried. Check with your doctor and a nutritionist to see about some variety.
Otherwise good luck!

Sounds good, except that you may be shorting yourself on calcium. Take a multivitamin with your smoothie to ensure you are not missing anything important. Other than that, it sounds much like the diet I used to lose 100 pounds.
