Nope, never heard of that one. I have heard that doctors do not recommend 'baking soda' for heartburn or indigestion because the human body uses a complex formula of bases and acids to function properly and accomplish assorted mundane tasks. Your friend may be working herself towards a future as the skinniest corpse around.

Healthy diet and exercise is the only way to go. Baking soda is very alkaline. It can cause an ulcer in your stomach. Whoever told you this is messing with you. Don't be so gullible.

it will cause awful damage to your kidneys and can upset the acidic balance of the acids in your stomach. do not try it.
on the other hand, baking soda is wonderful for whitening your teeth.
