My friend's boyfriend is on them. He's been diagnosed bipolar and before he takes them he's all crazy and mean and then he takes one and he's all relaxed and apologetic. Makes him sleep good too!

Zoloft is the med I use for my depression.
Over the years I have taken it, there has been a steady but slight lessening of the depression - so much so that I have not "felt" depressed for some time.
The Dr.s have told me that my body no longer makes the needed chemicals for my brain to function properly. Zoloft assists my body in replacing those chemicals....so that with it, I am capable of functioning in a normal range.

Side effects - in the first 2 weeks I was sick to my stomach one time. In the time since,( I'm not quite sure what is the Zoloft and what is me) I wake up during the night, I need naps during the day, and the last time my dosage increased I gained 15 lbs over a couple of weeks. - Like I said, I don't know what causes these things.

I've been taking 200 mg. of Zoloft since 1992.

I have only experienced two (2) side effects:
insommnia and decrease in appetite

I take my Zoloft in the morning. If I take it at night, I can't sleep.

Zoloft keeps me nice and thin. When I've gone off it, I gain about 25 pounds!

My dad has been taking this for about 3 years. He had trouble at first with disorientation, dizziness, loss of appitite, and emotions running on edge for about two weeks. After that, he had no trouble. He's still a little lost from time to time but I think it may have to dowith his age LOL
