I'm a vegetarian, and I've never had any health issues. All my nutrients are at the healthy level, and I am right in my BMI. Could a meat-based diet be the cause of obesity? Or could it simply be that convience has overthrown a healthy meal with the fast food industry? What is your opinion?

This is quite weird, hope you can help!

I'm asking this for my friend, coz we both find it a little strange. She is 5 ft 9" and still growing, but her feet have stopped growing at US size 7 (UK 4 and a half, EU 37). Does anyone know why? She's 14 and they stopped at 11. Weird question, but thanks anyway! =) xx

My father is suffering from arthritis he could hardly tolerate the pain. His doctor's management was to relieve him from pain by administering oral meds but unfortunately his liver and kidney are now mildly damaged. His legs are now swelling and he could not stand long and even walk. I would like to help my father by providing him external medicines like ointment/cream as not to add further damage to his liver and kidney. Is there any kind of external medicine that could probably be applied to my father's legs that is available in pharmacies? I need your help pls.

Ok, so for the past two years now, my period has come EXACTLY every 28 days consistently. This month, it shouldn't be here until the 25. But my body is acting so strange, idk what's wrong. I feel tired, sometimes I get lightheaded, my stomach looks a little bloated, and sometimes it feels like it's tensing up. I can't suck in my stomach, it just stays fat/bloated, and it hurts when I try to suck it in. I've never had sex before. I just don't know what's wrong. I'm 14 years old. Please help! What's wrong?

I have a co-worker who always has to "one-up" everyone, except that it always has to be worse instead of better. If you say you did something, then she says she did something worse.
We work in a hospital kitchen and one day I burned some toast. She said she did that before and flames shot out of the toaster. I burnt some bacon yesterday in the microwave and she said, that's okay, I burnt prunes. Last week she came in with a bandage on her arm and one of the other co-workers came in with a bandage on his arm, and hers was a scrape and his was a dog bite and she insisted hers was worse.
If we got 4 inches of rain, she got 6 inches.
If we got 12 inches of snow, she got 18 inches.
If there was a tornado here, she'd insist that it was worse where she lives.
So, is there a name for someone, for whom everything has to be WORSE??

Obviously, they see many many more cases of cancer than the average person. Hundreds or thousands more. Do they become numb to it and accept their inevitable fate? Do they repress a growing and overwhelming fear? Are they optimistic that they are helping to eradicate cancer once and for all - and that is where they put heir energy instead of fear?

I've heard all of the techniques about repeating positive things about yourself,.... to yourself. I need something stronger and more lasting over time. I've also had my problems with life.I've been losing on all fronts, and when I take a stand for myself I always seem to end up standing alone without any support. Along with this I am finding it harder and harder to follow through with things, once they get difficult. It seems to be a vicious downward circle. These have been results not beliefs. I need to be able to stop the madness. I have confidence, but what I need is unshakable confidence to build towards a win. It's been 5 years since I've had one, I 'm coming closer and closer to just giving up on life. Any suggestions?

i have mitral valve prolapse and i have had it since i was born so i am familiar with it and get yearly checkups at the heart doctor for it but i am just now starting to accually research it. this may sound weird but the best way for me to describe it is that my heart and chest area feel heavy and i start to feel really drained and tired. also sometimes when i have been laying down watching tv or reading for awhile and i stand up i start to get dizzy and everything that i see gets darker but it only lasts a couple of seconds. and i just want to confirm that when u have mvp you tend to have alot of anxiety and shortening of breath all of a sudden and a quiken of your heart beat right? also every once in a while when im breathing my chest starts to hurt (specifically around the bottom left part of my rib cage) and i have to take alot of small short breaths for them to stop.
can you tell me everything u know about mvp thx

The only medication that helps is oxycontin 40mg. The doc sometimes gives them to me but not all the time. I do not abuse the meds, I take as needed. If that is the only thing that helps why does the doc not want to write the script? There is no surgery that can help the knee he states. If there is no other options, isnt there anyway to get the meds I need easier?

My husband of 9 years was diagnosed by his doctor/ sister five months ago as type 2 diabetic. My husband took great pride in his health. Ever since, he has changed. His blood sugar is under control with medicine but it's taken it's toll on him mentally. His sister and I have been sworn to secrecy about this and I am at my wit's end on what to do. For ex: he was off yesterday but had diarreah all day so he more or less laid around and slept all evening until we went to bed. This disease has changed our way of life so tremendously and I have tried to talk to him and support him no matter what but I can't get through to him. He seems to stay depressed but no way will he see a doctor other than his sister, nor will he take any more medicine except for diabetes. He won't open up and talk. He is only 41 but his feet hurt all the time. He did open up once and said Do you know what it's like talking about ED with your sister? What can I do to get him out of his funk before it kills my marriage
