All dermatologists (and even the "queer eye for the straight guy" guys) tell men to shave WITH the grain of their hair, not against it.
I know it sounds counterintuitive and it doesn't sound like it would give a close shave, but it does and it's MUCH better on your skin than shaving against the hair.
Try it and in 4-5 days, you'll see the huge difference.

I have found that pre-shave oil works well. It is what barbers use before shaving too. It looks like it is in an eye dropper, it only takes a few drops and it works wonders. I always get bumps, ingrown hairs, etc. Trust me, Shave Secret in the razor aisle at Walmart works wonders...All of the mens shaving products from Sensaria work well too. Since you want perfect skin..they have a lava rock cleanser that scrubs all dead skin off of your face, you will not believe how soft and pure your skin will be.

No big deal. Wash face good w/ soap and water, use enough shaving cream,
don't try to get too much use out of a disposable razor.
...........
probably just a minor skin irritation if it goes away after a short time. If it doesn't and gets worse by the hour, then see a dr.

It's called razor burn and it is common. It happens when you get too close of a shave and take off the first layer of skin. Use aftershave, it was made for razor burn. It will burn like hell for the first few seconds, but then it will go away. It dries out the exposed layer of skin so it will stop burning and will turn back to normal skin tone.
