Ok, so for the past two years now, my period has come EXACTLY every 28 days consistently. This month, it shouldn't be here until the 25. But my body is acting so strange, idk what's wrong. I feel tired, sometimes I get lightheaded, my stomach looks a little bloated, and sometimes it feels like it's tensing up. I can't suck in my stomach, it just stays fat/bloated, and it hurts when I try to suck it in. I've never had sex before. I just don't know what's wrong. I'm 14 years old. Please help! What's wrong?

You've probably heard of PMS -- premenstrual syndrome. It causes fatigue, bloating, water retention, and irritability. You seem a little young to be experiencing that; however it is possible, and it's due to hormonal action.

Try to eliminate salt from your diet, as that retains water. Get as much rest as you can. Eat plenty of fiber, as constipation can also cause bloating and make your stomach protrude. That tensing up feeling is probably normal contractions in the uterus, as it prepares to shed its monthly lining -- the period.

If you continue to suffer these monthly symptoms, see your gyno. Sometimes a mild birth-control pill can ease your discomfort. Meantime, try simple aspirin or Tylenol. Good luck!

You may have an ovarian cyst which can be very painful and cause bloating as well especially around the time of your period.

Try to think and remember what you ate. You could just have a bad case of gas too. Gas pains can be felt in so many different ways and definitely cause your stomach to bloat.

It would be best to tell your mom how badly it hurts and have her take you to the dr. because it could also be something else or just bad side effects to an oncoming period. The sooner you have it taken care of the better it will be for you and for your future.

Good luck and feel better!

Since none of us here can give you a medical exam our answers are only speculation. Talk to your mom and let her know you are concerned enough to want to go to the doctor. Early detection of even minor issues can avoid a long series of treatments if you wait until later. Get it looked at and put your mind to rest.

Try asking a gynecologist or your family doctor about it. And she will let you undergo ultrasound to check what is happening inside you.Be cautious regarding that matter.
