I have a sore and tense shoulder and neck for the past 10 days. It is especially sore right where the shoulder meets the neck. When I touch the area it feels as though it is bruised. I also have the need to crack on my neck on that side now, which I never did before. A hot compress or massages do not seem to help it. Can this be related to depression or is it likely more severe? ( I was diagnosed with clinical depression this year) I cannot recall any repetive movements that I make and I do not work. PS: I am seeing a massage therapist for the first time in a couple weeks but I would like some relief until then.

We have never faced this before. We could not figure why he lost his scholarship, lost his place at Indiana University, mood has changed (goes balistic if anyone brings up or talks about something he disagrees with), is going through money like water (and it's not his own money)! Mom had an idea when he lived at home but he always put her mind to rest by reassuring her that he wasn't doing this drug. Now that he has lived away from home for one and one-half years, we notice a hugh difference in his personality, his appearance, etc. He is suffering with anxiety attacks and sees a therapist but I don't think the therapist is going down the right road with him. His personality changes in the drop of a hat and he has actually scared his parents to death with his screaming in the face to them. How can we as his parents speak to him without igniting the bomb in him. How can we get to his physcian or therapist and give them a "heads up" on this problem. He is worth saving!

I want to work, but my 18mo. old is having to receive treatments and testing for a rare condition. On top of that, I'm going through a very nasty divorce. DHR says I have to get a job, but I'm so stressed out that I just don't think I can hold down a 9-5 job right now. I've started having anxiety attacks. Besides, who would hire someone that has to take time off regularly to go to the hospital w/ their child?

I mean under normal (although that in itself is a variable from person to person, so therefore slightly misleading) but… Anyways, back to my question, under normal conditions, such as not running or such, on average how long does it take your blood to circulate fully throughout your system?

I had two wisdom teeth removed on Monday. The lower one was a very traumatic extraction and I got a dry socket. On wednesday I went to the dentist and they stuck some dressing in the hole. The dressing is starting to fall out. Is this normal and is it going to hurt when the dressing does come out?

I've noticed that after a bowel movement, when I wipe, there's a little blood there. It's bright red. I've had this a few times in the past, and I dismissed it as hemorrhoids or just irritation from constipation, diarrhea, etc. Should I be concerned? There's no pain at all. My digestion and "habits" are all the same. I'm only 29 years old. Any thoughts?

I have Long QT Syndrome and need to know if I can take Prilosec OTC. Are there any other antacids I can take? I know I can take Pepcid AC, but it does nothing. My doctor used to prescribe Prevacid, which worked great, but UHC won’t cover it any longer. My acid reflux is so bad I will be going to the emergency room if I don’t get some relief soon.

My boyfriend is bipolar. It scares me how quickly his mood changes, but I love him so much. He has explained to me about it and tells me he loves me, but when he gets in his "mean mood", it scares me. He's NEVER violent, just very mad. It caused him to say "F you" to me on the phone and he hung up. He called right back, crying and apologizing over and over. I believe in myself to deal with this. I know I can. I know he can't help it. Does anyone have any advice about being in a relationship with your love having bipolar?

Hello guys and girls,

I've been on Effexor for 4 weeks now (75mg) but at night before I goto bed, I get really sad and down, so having some beer helps.

I've been drinking about 3 Coronas (light beer) every night to help calm down and sleep. I know you aren't supposed to drink on this medication as it amplifies the effects of alcohol. But are there any other concerns I should be aware of?

I'm not drinking heavily, it's a light beer. Is this something I should stop?

Thanks for any help, I appreciate it.

I really don't think they like me. Just cause I'm quiet and shy and I feel kind of picked on because of it. I keep telling myself I don't care but I get so nervous and paranoid I can feel my skin in my whole body heat up in embarrasement when I talk and after. How can I completely just not care what they think of me? And please don't suggest going to see the doctor, if I could afford it I would.

My mother had a blister that popped but now it's bleeding. It's been bleeding for an hour without clotting. I worry that this maybe a side effect of the blood thinners she's on. When should I take her to the doctor?
