why are a lot of us obsessing over being smaller when deep down we know most men like something to hold on to,rather than a bag of bones. if men had to choose between nicole richie or beyonce most would say beyonce! im a size 10 but am still constantly on a diet

As a middle distance runner for the last 12 mnths, I have had increasing pain in my right illiac crest of my hip. I have been dilligent with stretching and monitoring distance and speed to ensure I don't overtrain. No expert to date has been able to relieve the pain. I know it is related to my illiotibial band of my leg, but even trying to strengthen my medial muscles has not helped. Any ideas on what is causing me so much grief and how I can relieve the pain so that I may keep up my running?

I run every other day, and I got a bad cold at the end of last week, I am blowing my nose all the time and am stuffed up in general. If I kept running (like 30-60 minutes every other day) would this keep the cold in my system longer or would it not matter?

Society's perceptions of mental illness are generally speaking pretty negative. The behaviour, thoughts and emotions of people with a mental illness are unpredicatable confusing and sometimes make people uncomfortable. For a very long time people have been trying to remove some of this stigma and it's a difficult job to conunteract social perceptions and fears. For those of us that have experienced mental illness, either personally or by watching a loved one suffer we know that a person with a mental illness can still be an intelligent, compassionate and beautiful person. Most of the time they are just 'normal' people that have a mental disorder blocking them. Some people in society still can't get that. My discussion is about the media. it seems to me that every time mental illness gets a mention in the media it is very rarely about promoting tolerance and understanding, but a negative image - pschopath comits some terrible crime that kind of thing. Isn't the media simply fuelling

HELP PLEASE! I am having numbness/pain/ and swelling on my left side. It goes from my belly button down to my leg and belly button around to my spine.
It is numb but swollen and painful at the same time. What could it be? I do have Irritable Bowel, Endometriosis, and Fibromyalgia.
This has been going on for several days now. I'm thinking of going to the emergency room but don't have health insurance so I need to make sure that it is very serious before I go to hospital.
Will take any help that I can get. PLEASE!

i have had toothache now for 2 years, i have seen 3 different dentists, it first of all started on my left lower, i had unsuccessful root treatment, then had to have the tooth removed, i was still in pain, my current dentist has opened up ALL the teeth on the lower left and filled them (another root treatment on one of them) still no joy. ive been referred to the ENT clinic, who confirmed it was nothing to do with throat or ears, he then referred me to the dental hospital and facial clinic, but i need to wait 26 weeks on an appointment.he then filled a tooth that was decayed recently on the lower right, and now this side of my face is in agony!!! :( i have had 10+ courses of anti-biotics, i just dont know what to do!

it isn't my spine or anything, my front left part of my neck, it hurts extreemly bad, and has for 5-6 days. i can cope with pain very well, i had MRSA, close to the avian flu, and i barely said a word about the pain, well anyways, so it hurts extreemly bad, especially when i swallow, i dont have a fever, im not sick, and the only thing that seems to work, and only for a few hours, is ibuprofen, but it still hurts a little when i take 400mg. it feels like someone cuts my neck all the way down when i swallow, but after, the pain goes away, almost. i dont know how it started, it just came out of the blue. the time that it hurts the most is in the morning, but it still hurts very bad at lunch time and at night. what should i do about this? please help, i cant stand it anymore.

Just feeling a bit sorry for myself really. Meant to be going to hospital on wed to get my gallbladder out on thur. Now I think I have an infection in my boob! It's red, lumpy and very sore! I had this problem about 2 years ago and ended up in the hospital 3 times to get it drained! Wondered if anyone thinks they might just sort it out while I'm under anaesthetic getting my gall bladder out, or if they'll postpone my op??? Can't see a doctor til tomorrow. Maybe someone else has had a similar thing while waiting for an op! Anyway, suppose I shouldn't moan, plenty of people worse off than me. Another couple of weeks and I should be feeling better! PMT will be gone too, makes things worse. Boo hoo poor me!
