My dau has social anxiety, and I`ve learned through her therapy that this is a very, very common disorder. If you try to deal with it on your own, you will most likely have anxiety or panic attacks.

I don't know the percentage, but I do know that I am a very shy person who avoids most social situations when possible. In my opinion, it's better to be shy than over confident.
Somewhere half way is best - hopefully I'll get over my 'social phobia'!

I used to suffer from it too, the only solution for this is to spend as much time as you could with people, I'm not over it totally yet, but a lot better than before.

Oh, that's an awful disorder. I suffer from it too. I agree with the other people who answered your question, just try to interact more with people, you have to force yourself to do it. I know it's not easy.
