i keep hearing both a yes and no answer to coffee and tea.. coffee and tea should NOT be counted toward your water consumption.. both contain caffeine and are natural diuretics.. they actually dehydrate you!! alot of people already mentioned the old lemon water trick so i will throw some different ideas your way. i would suggest trying the fruit flavored bottled waters, they are really quite tastey, very low calorie, and not a lot more expensive than traditional bottled water. get the generic store brand name, no need to buy the vitamin water or anything like that.. other options for water alternatives would be crystal light, there are alot of different flavors available, only 5 calories per serving, thats all i can think of now but i hope this helps..

You can count "nondiuretic" fluids. That's fluids that do not have any caffeine or other products that cause the kidneys to put out MORE urine. Diuretic fluids actually increase your need for more water.
So, fruit juices, water with Kool-aid/Crystal Lite, non-caffeinated teas and coffee are OK. Also, try filtering your water. It really improves the taste. Or just add a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime.

I don't think so because drinks like tea and coffee contain caffeine which dehydrates the body. Squash is high in sugar which also dehydrates the body. You can eat a lot of fruit and vegetables though and get some of your water that way from the food.

Sorry but it doesn't count towards water...water is beneficial to your health it's vital that you drink at least your recommended 8 glasses per day....try to look at all the benefits of drinking water rather than the taste of it.
For instance:
Your skin is radiant
Your hair has a "natural" shine
Your energy level is accelerated
Your overall health is improved
So if you focus on the good it will definitely out weight the bad
I couldn't stand water at one point in my life either but I started having complications and my doctor told me that I needed to drink more water and it really improved my health.

Tea and coffee don't as they're diuretics, but sugar free squash or flavoured water would be ideal.
I hate plain water too, but drink loads of Volvic's 'touch of fruit'. You could try squeezing a little lemon, lime or orange juice into your water?

I suppose if you had 2 litres of water with a little bit of squash that would count - all liquids at the end of the day!

I believe that all of these count towards your 8 pints of water a day, due to the proportions of water to caffine/squash etc. Although caffine can dehyrdrate the water still counts towards your goal of 8pints.

This is a much debated subject. Two things to consider: You are not likely to become dehydrated if you consume 8 pints of fluids every day, no matter what they are. But, to achieve optimal good health, It is recommended that you consume at least that much pure, clean water. You wouldn't starve to death if you ate candy bars only, all day every day, but you wouldn't be as healthy as you could be. If you want optimal good health find a way to drink the water.

no because of the caffeine in the tea and coffee.
Try adding a slice of lemon or some lemon juice to give it some flavour or drink flavoured water instead.
