Are people's beliefs based on genetics?
I wrack my brain, trying to figure out how so many Christians can reason the answers they reason.

Having been de-converted, I understand what a Christian believes. But there's a big hole somewhere - like this galactic bell-curve that just prohibits any measure of sound reason.

It's like a scary movie - a Twilight Zone where everyone around you is kind of insane.... Not a lot, they can speak English and drive and shop... But really!

It is astounding how much of the essence of the meanings of so many of these questions Christians completely miss!

If anyone knows of a genetic component that would correlate religious belief or faith with an inability to reason properly, I would love to hear from you.

Likewise, in psychology. I realize that many Christians have been indoctrinated since childhood and that this type of early predisposition to bypass reason can galvanize into a reality/delusion complex where the "victim's" ability to critically investigate their beief, dies.

Guys, have to go in to get all four wisdom teeth pulled next week, have put it off once once already caused i'm kinda worried about it being put to sleep (with gas). I asked several time not to but it has to be because there so impacted.

Has anyone ever been put to sleep for this op? Is it ok? Do you feel sleepy or just pass out with out warning? Is it a deep sleep, can your hear or feel anything? Do you dream? Does the gas smell bad? Do you feel ok when you wake up? Lots of questions but if i know whats gonna happen i'm sure i'll be grand! I suppose its a bit odd to worry about the anesthetic but not the actual teeth removal

The other night i woke up from a deep sleep & as i started drifting back off, although i was awake i started hearing voices! I tried to snap myself out of it and woke up enough to stop the voices but when i started drifting off again i heard the voices! Is this normal as i was still quite awak but kinda half asleep?

One morning 3 weeks ago my daughter, 8 years old, woke with vomiting and diarrhea. She was competely fine by that afternoon. One week later, exact same thing. At this time, we were a bit alarmed but she recovered quickly and was fine. Then, this past Sunday morning (two weeks after last episode), she woke with the same symptoms. We then called the "after hours" doctor and she basically said that it may be three separate virus' and left it at that. This was not a good enough answer for us, so we brought her in to the pediatrician yesterday. We are now running tests of urine, stool, blood. My daughter seemed fine yesterday (Monday) but was complaining of a stomach ache before school this morning. This could be nerves, as she tends to be a bit melodramatic. Hard to tell, she is worried about "having a sickness". She stayed home today but no vomitting so far. I realize that there could be various causes but wondering if anyone has a similiar experience to share?

I do not know what is going on with me, I feel lost, I feel as if I am living a life without a reason...
Everything that I do, is wrong.. I never do anything right..

i'm about to graduate..
I got accepted into Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, but I am not satisfied with that...
IDK what I was thinking, that I put "Aerospace Engineering" as my major..
my GPA is 3.4 and I believe that just because of the major.. they are accepting me...
I've tried so hard this whole year.. IDK if I can take it..

I almost feel like just ending everything..
I don't want to go through this anymore!!
I try so0o hard and yet, no one seems to take notice of that..
it's always the "Bright" students that get recognition..
throughout all my life.. I NEVER had the same opportunities as all those "Bright" students..
I admire them because they work hard, but I struggled so much to get to the point where I am..
that I feel it's not good enough anymore!!
it's just not good enough! i'm not good enough for now one!!....

I had sex for the first time last friday . Since then I've been feeling sort of stomach cramps and a bit of back pain ( sort of like when you're expecting you're period but I'm not expecting it for a few weeks) Is this normal after you're first time? Could these pains and things mean I could be pregnant even if we used a condom?? Could you get pregnant by contact of the sperm with the outer part of the vagina??

i have awful teeth. i brush, floss, rinse, you name it... i've just always had cavity-prone teeth. i know sugary foods and beverages are bad for teeth but what about diet sodas with no sugar? i realize there isn't any sugar in sugar-free sodas but they're still all sticky and stuff. thanks!

I have just had a baby and at different times during the day, i experience an irregular heart beat. Does anyone know what would be the cause of this irregularity or what i should do in this case? I have been thinking of seeing a cardiologist or is this just a phase after the child birth, which i must say was stress free?

You hear of this so often and of course, not all abused individuals turn out to be molesters or abusers themselves. I myself was abused as a child and I have so much compassion for my own children and others that the thought would never cross my mind to put another person through what I went through. I just don't understand how some turn out that way?
