I understand why hitting a finger with a hammer hurts and what provokes that pain, but how come that during a migraine light or sound can have the same effect?

My diet has changed a lot.
No more junk food or soft drinks and I'm doing cardio everyday.
I run about 3 miles a day and instead of shedding pounds, I'm gaining. What's going on?

I have tried oragel and some local stuff but i it did not work. I need something close to novacain cause im in a lot of pain and i cant afford to go see a dentist untill next month. My insurence does not kick in untill next month. So i need something that will hold me over untill then. I dont like the smell of oragel and need something that will last upto 4-8 hours so i can sleep at night also with out waking up. please find something that will help me ASAP ???????????????

i have a Horrible cough, its full of flem. chest pains, with presure. i have a bad sore throat. my voice is super scratchy, and almost a whisper. i have a stuffy nose. and swollen glands right under my jaw bone. most of the time i cant swallow anything. even water is hard. but i have no fever.

have you ever had this? if so what did the docter call it? should i go to the doc? what are some possible illnesses this could be?

I am 47 years, slim and generally healthy. Five days ago I slept on the sofa and I woke up with terrible and sharp pain in my lower back. since then I suffer in silence. The pain is so strong that I can't bend or lift heavy things. Paracetamol calms it down though, I do not want bother my GP why the pain does not go away? thanks for answers

the other day i was walking up a hill and i had what i believe was an asthma attack.i ahve walked this route before and nothing like this ever happened, i was always just a bit out of breath.i was fine until my throat cloesed up and i cud hardly breathe, my lip swelled up, i felt really dizzy and i was wheezing really badly. i went to see my doctor and he thinks it is asthma, it runs in my family but i have never had asthma before,especially not an asthma attack.i went for an xray and now im waiting to find out what it was and why it suddenly came on...

For my health class we need to write a poem of a stressful time. The problem is the only stressful time that keeps coming into my mind is my abusive boyfriend. It stressed me out more then anything in the world. But I don't want the class to know anything about my past. People judge you and the teacher always asks questions when things like this are brought up. Are their any ideas of something stressful I can write about? Last tuesday I went to the er because I couldn't breathe. The doctor sent me home with medicine, and said that I had pleurisy. I went back yesterday cause my chest was hurting again. Now, I have bronchitis to go with the pleurisy. He gives me an anitibiotic and some steriods. Now, my blood pressure is low, and my pulse stays at 120, and if I stand up, it jumps to 160. Should I go back to the ER? I'm scared for my heart, and it feels like it's going to jump out of my chest. Thanks.

Last night my mom was up all night with diarrhea, and she threw up once. She thinks it is from some pork she ate (which I didn't). She hasn't thrown up for about four hours, but she still has diarrhea. Does this sound like food poisining or a virus? Should I stay away? I just got over gastroenteritis about a month ago and I really don't want to go through that again any time soon.

Question on taking medince for anxiety.?
I have been on Zoloft for 3 months now. And still no help with my anxiety. Last night I was at a get together with my mother and some of her coworkers. All day before the actuall get together, I was experiencing anxiety and nausea. I managed to go, but it got so bad I was shaking, hot, nausea and actually started throwing up 10mins after I was there and had to leave. Im going back to my doctor to talk about this. Knowing I need something for my anxiety, I was wondering if there was something in particular I should ask for. Something that would help me when I have an anxiety attacks. Will relax me and make me more comfortable? Thanks for any help.
