Last tuesday I went to the er because I couldn't breathe. The doctor sent me home with medicine, and said that I had pleurisy. I went back yesterday cause my chest was hurting again. Now, I have bronchitis to go with the pleurisy. He gives me an anitibiotic and some steriods. Now, my blood pressure is low, and my pulse stays at 120, and if I stand up, it jumps to 160. Should I go back to the ER? I'm scared for my heart, and it feels like it's going to jump out of my chest. Thanks.

I would go to the ER, sounds serious. You can first try to take deep breaths , breathing in and then breathing out slowly a couple of times.

The fast heartbeat can also be a side effect of the meds. You can call your pharmacy and ask if it is possible. But whatever u choose to do, I hope u feel better.

God Bless.

It is the steroids that are making your HR jump up. It sounds like you need to go back to the ER. Maybe you need something for anxiety or an adjustment of your steroids.

Your high heart rate is more than likely a result of the steroids and any kind of inhaler or breathing treatment they gave you. 160 though is way too high. Call the ER and ask them what you should do. I would lay down immediately though and try to be as calm as you can while you call them.
