Clean it frequently (every few hours or so) with hydrogen peroxide.

Signs of infection: redness, swelling, pus, heat. It doesn't sound like your wound is infected. You probably nicked a blood vessel when you cut it, so it may appear darker around the area, much like a bruise would look. It probably keeps bleeding because a cut on a finger is in a tough position to close up. You're constantly moving and using your fingers. You bend your finger just a little bit and it's enough to stretch the skin beyond what the new cut can handle, and it breaks open again. If the bleeding situation continues, it may need a few stitches to hold it closed, just until it's healed well enough to stay closed on its own. Of course, if you have doubts about the wound, I'd get it checked by a Dr.

Depending on how deep the cut is, you may have to wear a "plasta" (a.k.a. "Band-Aid"TM). Wash the wound gentle soap and water, pat dry, apply an antibiotic lotion or cream to the wound, and cover it with a bandage. Repeat this twice a day. After a few days, you can let the scab form, but until then, you want to fight infection.

For an exceptionally deep wound, consult a medical professional.

It's a misconception that leaving it open to the air will heal it quicker. Clean it out with hydrogen peroxide, just pour it over the cut and wait till it stops bubbling. Then wipe it off and put neosporin on it, a healthy dose, then cover it with a bandaid. Leave it alone and try not to get it wet for a couple of days. You may have to keep reapplying the neo. and bandaids if you get it wet. You should see a big difference fast, and you won't have issues with scaring as you would leaving it open to air.

There is a product called liquid bandage that would fix up your cut. If you can't find that, try using super glue (be careful not to glue your fingers together). Clean your cut and dry well before applying. This will keep the two edges of skin together while your cut heals from the bottom up. It will also keep any new dirt from getting into the cut and it is less bothersome than a regular bandage.

hi, your best bet to keeping it clean is to wash your hands even over the cut, then to apply some anti-septic cream. put a plaster on it when u are cooking /cleaning or doing any dirty jobs - this then reduces the risk of the cut becoming infected. If you dont have any anti-septic cream, then believe it or not spitting on the cut is just as good! remember to always keep your hands clean and dry, avoid prolonged contact with water or other liquid as this will just delay the healing process.

It kinda depends on how deep the cut is. If it's really deep, you might need stitches. If it's rather superficial ...... put neo sporin on it and keep it bandaged for the first few days, changing the bandage daily. When it looks like it's closing up a bit, you can refrain from bandaging it.

Wash it under running water. Dry it with a sterile cloth. Put Neosporin on it and put a bandade on it. This will cause it to heal the fastest.

Keep it dry and out of water and only use a dry dressing, do not cover with a waterproof dressing or rubber glove .Shd. heal in 7 to 10 days .

so that it will not get infection, clean it with antibacterial soap, and wrap it in a bandage. try not to wrap it to tight so that air can get to he cut so it can breathe and heal faster. also, of course, after cleaning, put Neosporin on the cut under the loose bandage.

Can't have it both ways!

Wear a plaster for a couple of days(presuming you've cleaned it already - salt water best agent) - then remove!

Too late for stitches now.
