Health - 1 January 2007

I really want to quit drinking for good, but it is really difficult for me to do so. How does one overcome the craving of alcohol? How does one consciously embrace sobriety? I dont want it to ruin my life like it did my grandfathers. Before I get a family of my own one day, I dont one them to see me as the alcoholic. I want to be such a good man for my a future wife and my children.

it has came to a point where its really bad, i also have a tendency to bite skin off my fingers. i used to have a pacifier for a long time when i was little and now its getting really bad. i actually hide my fingers from people. Its gross and it needs to stop. i need suggestions on how to stop really bad. please help me and please dont leave any negative comments....and leave helpful, good suggestions on how to stop...thanks

I take extra strength sleeping pills when I get bored toward the end of the day so that I can sleep early and wake up to a new day. Only sometimes I do this, like twice a week. My life is so boring.

I've been with the same girl for almost 2 years now, and we've never had a problem up until about a month ago. I used this Durex condom and it had some sort of lubrication on it. The following week, I broke out in a slightly painful red rash (which bled slightly at one point), which was around the tip and nowhere else. I waited for it to heal and it did. Like an idiot, I used that same kind of condom again, and the same thing happened, only a lot worse! Now, every time my girlfriend and I have sex, it just plain hurts for both of us. We were both getting really worried until I picked up the box and read the warning label on the back (Warning: Lubricants may cause skin irritations or rash). Wow were we ever relieved, but the pain still persists after discontinued use of that type of condom. Do you think this will heal or should I seek a Dr.'s help? BTW, I was using a Durex lubricated condom, in a blue box. I don't recall the exact name of it.

It's been about 6 weeks since my last period and before that it came 2 weeks after a regular one... I stopped Birth Control pills in the summer.... I don't think it can still be affecting my cycle... I've also gained a lot, could that have something to do with it?
and I'm not pregnant... last time I had sex was months and months ago....

Any ideas?

I think I have a hormonal imbalance somewhere. When I was 22 I had a routine physical and they found a thyroid problem but when we did an MRI, they didn't find the problem, this was 15 years ago. I have been looking it up and it looks like I may have some symptoms. Does anyone know any websites or have any information? Thanks.

Yesterday I was running into the living room and hit the side of my hand on my brother's guitar. Right after I hit it my whole hand went numb and then it started burning. I thought that was odd since all I did was hit the side of my hand, not my whole hand. So for the rest of the night I was unable to move my fingers without pain, and the burning never stopped. Now today my whole hand and wrist ache, and my fingers are all sore, especially my middle finger.

Did I seriously hurt my hand? I know it's not broken or anything because my brother just broke his wrist, and I don't have the same pain. but I would like to know what I did to my wrist so I can know whether or not to avoid using it as much, or to let it rest.

I have been gettin them on my right butt cheek every month for about 6 months now and they swell up and hurt so bad that have to be squeezed. I can't set on the toliet good when it does because of the pain. I want a good diet that shows good results, but not like extreme 10 pounds a week.... I'm 14, 5'7, and 190 pounds... I don't have trouble with sweets or unhealthy food, I just eat to much... I have a sore on my right cheek in the very back of my mouth. It's resting up against one of my molars and it feels huge. Ive already tried applying salt to burn it and I also used mouthwash. I've never had a sore this big before. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
