I've been with the same girl for almost 2 years now, and we've never had a problem up until about a month ago. I used this Durex condom and it had some sort of lubrication on it. The following week, I broke out in a slightly painful red rash (which bled slightly at one point), which was around the tip and nowhere else. I waited for it to heal and it did. Like an idiot, I used that same kind of condom again, and the same thing happened, only a lot worse! Now, every time my girlfriend and I have sex, it just plain hurts for both of us. We were both getting really worried until I picked up the box and read the warning label on the back (Warning: Lubricants may cause skin irritations or rash). Wow were we ever relieved, but the pain still persists after discontinued use of that type of condom. Do you think this will heal or should I seek a Dr.'s help? BTW, I was using a Durex lubricated condom, in a blue box. I don't recall the exact name of it.

Thanks

you either have a mild allergy or sensitivity to either the latex or the lubricant. I would avoid all contact with latex condoms and especially the lubricant for at least 1 week to 10 days.
In the mean time, I would try some benadryl(r) for the itching and swelling that you may have, and a mild hydro-cortisone creme for the rash (you can ask your pharmacist for assistance). Wash daily with warm soapy water (dial soap) and pat dry. If you are in a hot environment and sweat a lot, use a gold bond powder as well...if is should get worse, see your MD or DO
good luck

It sounds as if you 2 are sharing a yeast infection.

I would call a doctor if this continues more than 2 weeks after discontinuing the condom's use.

I've had the same experience with Durex. Only I didn't get the rash, my wife did. We started using condems when she tried going off the pill. It didn't work out too well to say the least. She's back on the pill and everything is back to normal.
