The info on this site made me decide to go vegetarian.. but I have heard from many people that peta.com is actually taking part in some form of animal cruelty. Anyone know anything about this?

I know it depends on what you eat, but is this true in general? Also, to all the vegetarians out there, do you crave unhealthy foods more, less, or the same as when you ate meat?

This is so embarrasing! I am a new volunteer and a rich donor is treating the entire staff to an expensive holiday celebration with just two choices: an expensive cut of beef or a seafood dish. I only know a few people and I will be so disheartened to see all these animal rights advocates eating meat. I don't want to embarras any of them either when I have to ask for special food like they should have done. I am so disillusioned! If the animal shelter is not vegan friendly then the whole world must be nuts! I don't want to spoil the party, but I wish there was an acceptable way I could help them to see their hypocrasy. Staying home in silent protest won't solve anything either.

My brother in law works in a pub and wants to add to the vegetarian options on the menu. What would you like to eat in the pub? I think that most vegetarians (myself included) prefer simple dishes like vegetarian chili or a good pasta dish, what do you think?

Hi, I have recently become educated with regards to the virtues of vegetarianism, and one of my friends is also trying to cut meat out of her diet. We've looked at lots of slaughterhouse images, read books on how bad meat is for you, surf the PETA site, etc. And i am wanting to change my eating habits but i have no idea where to start. I've always been such a carnivore and junk food junkie but i'd like to change that and am not sure if it should be done all at once or gradually. To say the least, after doing some research for the past month or so it kind of grosses me out to eat meat now but if I dont eat meat, i stay hungry. I just need some pointers, if you decided to become veg, how did you do it? does the constant hunger feeling ever go away? do you supplement your diet with vitamins or anything? is it hard to find restaurants that cater to vegetarians? It's kind of hard to start eating better if I have always been a meateater and cheese fanatic and i just need some pointers.thanks

I mean seriously that guy made you all look like a bunch of idiots. Any sixth grade history student would know that term, but almost the entire vegetarian section was clueless. It says a lot about you guys.

Trying to think of different ways to give my tofu a diffrent texture. I heard that freezing it before helps, but I wanted a second opinion before destroying my dinner. Has anyone ever tried it or know of any other suggestions?
