Freezing tofu completely alters the texture. It's really interesting. We freeze it all the time. Especially if we buy some tofu on sale because it's usually near expiration, so throw it all in the freezer.
Turns it into a sponge. After you thaw it, you can literally pick it up and squeeze it like a sponge to wring out the water.
There's even a name for it in Japanese/Chinese/and likely other languages as well.
I don't do anything different with it, I just chuck it in my stir fry or whatever as usual. I'm sure there are lots of specific "frozen tofu" recipes out there though.
Just found a photo and some text about it here too:

Unless I need the tofu to have a smooth texture, like for miso soup, I always freeze it first. It has a much better texture this way. You won't destroy your dinner, and it will be easier to work with.

I'm assuming it would be ok, because, they do sell entrees with tofu in them and they are frozen. Have you tried the extra firm tofu dipped in soy milk and rolled in panko bread crumbs and fried in a pan with some canola oil? YUMMY ! Just until brown though or else it will start to melt.
Best of luck!

it makes it more tougher, like porous... it won't ruin it. i think what happens is that the water/whey melt away. great for sauteing. it just makes tofu more resilient. you know how normal, medium firm- very firm tofu still falls apart readily when prodded? it won't happen here. you really have to try it to see. what is that um vegetable protein meat substitution... setan? it's kind of like that in texture without that flavor.
for flavouring, i would just use a sauce that i like a lot since the tofu will readily absorb it. add veggies, make a stir fry! :)
edit: oh, and before cooking, you have to defrost it first.

I freeze it all the time--I actually store tofu in the freezer and just defrost when I'm ready to use it.

Regardless of temperature, tofu is flavorless and has a terrible texture.
