I mean seriously that guy made you all look like a bunch of idiots. Any sixth grade history student would know that term, but almost the entire vegetarian section was clueless. It says a lot about you guys.

As an American but not a vegetarian.
The only Beefeater I care about is gin.

In the US, why would we care who the Beefeaters are?

Great that you can remember something from sixth grade... to bad you don't have a job to support yourself and a life outside of thinking about sixth grade. Seems like 6th grade is where you peaked and you're going down hill from there. Did you repeat 6th or do you have an affinity for men in tights? Not that it matters to us what your orientation is, but you seemed obssessed with Beefeaters.

It's because they are smarter than the average bear and know that beef is a major contributor to serious health problems (ie. heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, etc). And the thought of a beefeater is nauseating to a vegetarian.

Before you start badmouthing the diet preference maybe you should do some education on the home front. The national hearth declines in all countries that our fast foods move into.

China now has an obesity epidemics in their Young children that never never had before our fast foods got there. And as their diets have become westernized, their diseases of the heart and cancers have increased.

Read Dr. Campbell's health study "The China Study"

I wish I had the strength to be a vegetarian let a lone a vegan.

That is the best waste of five points you can come up with? I am an omni, but I know what a Beefeater is andI ahve hadmy picture taken with a Beefeater when I visited London a couple of years ago.

That sixth grade education get you anywhere? From your football answers it sure didn't get you much knowledge about that. Of course they don't let fat kids play football do they?

It would help if I knew more about British stuff in general. And I took history in 6th grade, in every grade actually, and have never heard that term. Do I feel dumb? No, in fact, I'm grateful to have learned something new. Try asking not only the vegetarian section, but people from all categories. I doubt you'd have much better answers except from the people who take the time to look things up.

I am sure the whole vegetarian section did not post an answer to the question so I'm not sure where you think your facts are coming from!
Who really cares what a beefeater is is a better question? And why do you think we care what you think? Here is a better one if you believe this why are you on here? Low self esteem maybe?

Now, what is the point of this question? You are not seeking information of advice. You are just coming on here to insult people again. So what if a few people didn't know what some historical reference meant? That doesn't mean they are not smart and certainly doesn't make them idiots.

It doesn't say anything about vegetarians, but this post does say a bit about you, namely that you don't understand the rules of Y!A and that you like to try to feel superior to a group of people who have done you no harm and only want to live their lives cruelty-free.

You do know the proper term for them is buffetier and that the reason they came to be commonly known as beefeaters is because they were paid in beef, something most people could not afford back then. Personally I feel it's an insult to the culture to use the term beefeaters and therefore I will not acknowledge the term as such.
