It seems that the biggest objection I've heard about meat from vegetarians is that it causes suffering. Well here you have modern technology catching up, and scientists will soon develop meat free of suffering, since it is just tissue being grown in nutrients.

So any of you eat this vat-grown meat? Why or why not? If you answered yes, how much would you pay for vat-grown meat?

For those of you who like to toke up (spare me the lectures), what do you eat when you get a case of the munchies? 'Cause obviously you're not hanging around Taco Bell at midnight ordering the entire menu.

(This also goes for vegetarians.)

Inedia is the alleged ability to live without food. Breatharianism isconcept, in which people claim food and possibly water are not necessary, and that humans can be sustained solely the energy in sunlight.

Examples are Jasmuheen aka Ellen greve

dont say meat eaters are gross and wrong to eat meat because we are being natural. why be vegetarian? im sorry if this offends people i want to know why you are being a vegetarian with the meat is wrong to eat etc... and dont say you dont say that it like your moto

I've heard recently that some vegetarians and vegans are upset with PETA because of the "horrible" things they do and the lies they tell us. Is this true? I've also heard that most vegetarians/vegans don't support PETA because of specific reason, though I don't know what those are. Can you please elaborate and give details? I'm so confused. I've always supported PETA, but now I"m reconsidering this. ??? Help, please!

Why do they think that just because they don't eat the meat of the animals that God has provided for them to eat that they're somehow "better" people?

I have been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for a year. My mom used to worry about it, but shes ok now.

I decieded that I want to slowly become a vegan. I know that it's going to be hard, that's why I am slowly easing int it. I plan on drinking soy milk and not drinking milk anymore. Then not eating eggs by themsleves anymore (I'll still eat them if they're baked into things like bread for a while). Later I would give up other dairy products like ice cream, cream cheese and yogurt. Eventually I would give up cheese and then I would give up things that have milk and eggs cooked into them (bread, cake, things like that).

Today I told my mom that I wanted to try soymilk, but she immediatly refused without much thought. I was too nervous to explain my plan. She said that I tried soymilk when I was younger and I didn't like it so I wouldn't like it now. Before she has said stuff about how vegans are too extreme.

How can I tell her?

I understand that organic means grown without artificial pesticides, fertilizers or other chemicals. But you don't really "grow" milk, so I don't see what you would use pesticides or fertilizers for in the first place.

I am aware that organic also means without growth hormones, but you can buy milk labeled "no artificial growth hormones" that isn't organic.

Someone please clarify. Thanks.

I want to be vegan. I know that I can do it. But... how long have you been a vegan? Are you sick at all? I heard that being a vegan can be deadly. What I really want to know is how to get all of the nutrients and vitimans and stuff that I need to live without eating animal products. Please answer. I need help.

It is one of my major hates.
I eat meat, but if I was vegetarian I would not eat fish. It's hypocritical. Oh, and leather shoes! Even more annoying.
I would like to hear vegetarians and meat eaters point of views on wearing leather and eating fish when vegetarian. Thanks :]

Do PETA supporters not eat meat because of the way they are treated beforehand (ie:slaughterhouse) or for the sole reason of eating an animal?

If it is for the sole reason of eating an animal, how come they don't realize that hundreds of other animals eat meat (other animals obviously)? Why don't they go yell at a jaguar for eating a gazelle? We just happen to be more dominant, therefore we get to eat all the tasty meat we want.

I am against animal cruelty, but I love eating meat.
