I have heard from different sources that Basil herb naturally contains mercury ("in trace amounts").
Ive heard both tulsi and sweet basil contain it. Has anyone heard this and further; does anyone avoid basil because of it?
Mercury is offically classified as one of the most destructive non-radioactive nuerotoxins on earth and is something I am activley trying to omit form my diet.
thanks

My sister wants to go vegetarian. She has never really cared about animals until last week. We believe that she is doing this for attention. Her friends are vergetarian so that could be one possibility for her choice. My parents do not agree with ehr choice. They say it is unheathy for a 16 year-old to not eat meat. What are some possible arguments that they can approach that will guide her away from the idea.

Being the only 10th grade vegetarian i must ask why people when they find out that I dont eat meat think that im crazy and they ask ALOT of questions about it. I just dont think people should kill animals and most hunters (almost all) only kill so they can can say " Look what I killed".. That makes me sick....and they get around me saying that s**t, but most know that an angry blackbelt in karate isnt funny.

Specifically Ener-G Egg Replacer. I haven't seen any at Wal-mart, but I haven't looked anywhere else? Should I try another supermarket or would I have better luck at a health food store?

I have been farting with increasing frequency, and odiferousness. It's getting really bad! For example, earlier today i went outside for a couple hours and then returned to my apartment after being acclimated to the outdoor fresh air. The noxious fumes came within an inch of doing me in. I had to open all my windows even tho it's like 40 degrees outside!
What good does it do to stop killingn animals with my diet, if there is a distinct possiblility i will kill people with my fumes!
Which vegetable is causing this noxious pollution? All of them? How do i narrow it down?

I was wondering... Most people I know think vegetarians and vegans, (the few that know what a vegan is), can't handle anything gory. I'm a vegetarian, but I can still handle things gory. Only to a point, granted, but we all have our limits, eh?

I was wondering how many vegans and/or vegetarians can handle gore?

I have heard that our intestines are so long that meats actually start to putrify before we can pass them through. but if our intestines weren't designed to eat meat then why do we have canine teeth??

Hey Y'all, I just got a new winter and summer squash recipe in which the directions say to pierce and cook the squash in the microwave until barely tender. I'm using a butternut squash in the recipe, but I've never cooked one in the microwave and I need to know how long it might take to get to barely tender. Has anyone ever nuked a squash? How long do you think it would take? I know how to cook them in the oven, but I think this is supposed to sqeed the process because the recipe is to saute afterward. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been a vegetarian for almost 2 weeks now and at first it was ok, but now it's kind of like... *SIGH* I mean, i'm a very picky eater so I tend to stick with things I like and now they're just becoming boring.

For breakfast I may have cereal, for lunch a salad, then for dinner i'll have whole grain pasta. And that's basically been what i've been doing for 2 weeks and i've probably switched it up like 3 times, maybe.

I don't like cooked vegetables so it's kind of hard to find things that I like. Any suggestions? PLEASE!
