majnun----true. The person I'm referring to said crabs weren't even animals though and claimed to have a PHD.

michael h-----as far as wikipedia goes, it's a good place to find ideas of what to research but not a good place for research itself.

Wikipedia should have it's own section at snopes.com.

krister---I'll quote his post:

"Clams, oysters and scallops are NOT animals. Neither are shrimp, lobsters, crawdads, or barnacles, etc. They are crustaceans."

He didn't like the way I talked to him (imagine that?) so he posted this:

"You can't if you didn't wash the cookware after cooking the meat.

This is one really silly question......but then

There was a certain "asker" who recently asked a question about eating crustaceans that don't feel pain. When 26 people tried to give that person answers, 19 of them were criticized, by the asker, in a condescending way..mine included."

So, I put a couple of question out on the V & V stage to address his foolishness.

I just noticed he got 0 thumbs up and 10 thumbs down. That's hard to do even for me!

HA! What a goon.

Did he try to say that crabs aren't animals, they are crustacea?

Yeah, I saw his "crustacean" answer.

People are bad enough with thinking that they know everything. Give them a PhD and WHOA, how outfuckingrageous they can be.

Well, I recently had a contact from someone on this forum claiming to have a Ph.d and they said I must have "studied nutritian" because I was a healthy vegetarian.

There are idiots with degrees, PHDs, jobs and Yahoo accounts, we just have to get used to it.

I can buy the right to use "PHD" for $195.

If you check wikipedia for anything you are onto a loser straight away. Use if for approximate opinion, if you want anythng more accurate than that then moderated dictionaries are the place to go.

A person with a Ph.D doesn't know everything. Someone with a Ph.D in literature isn't necessarily going to know anything about biology, for example.

There are all kinds of idiots here on Yahoo; some claim to have degrees they don't really have. I saw someone who claimed ot be a psychiatrist and couldn't even spell it.

Some people really have advanced degrees and they are idiots anyway.

BS (we all know what that is)
MS (more of the same)
PH.D (piled higher and deeper)

You wouldn't think so, but some phd's are really clueless about a lot of 'real' information.

Right ...!!
Because there is a dictionary right up on top,,, On the toolbar
including an encyclopedia and more.
why back out to search the web when you can stay right here in food & drink
NO matter how silly to post in V&V,,,?
